हेल्दीएजिंग इंडिया एक गैर सरकारी संस्था है, जो वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए सम्मानजनक और सक्रिय रहने की दृष्टि के साथ काम कर रहा है। एनजीओ के जरिए कई ऐसे कार्यक्रम चलाए जा रहे हैं, जो वरिष्ठ नागरिकों, वंचितों और बच्चों के समग्र शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य जरूरतों को पूरा करते हैं। समानता, शांति और न्याय मूल तत्व को लेकर अपने परोपकारी मिशन में ‘हेल्दीएजिंग इंडिया’ हर दिन नए आयाम स्थापित कर रहा है। संस्था के संस्थापक अध्यक्ष डॉ, प्रसून चटर्जी बताते हैं, ‘हम समय को नहीं रोक सकते हैं, लेकिन हम अपनी आत्मा को हास्य, कृतज्ञता और रचनात्मकता के साथ युवा रख सकते हैं।चिकित्सक होने के नाते मैं हमेशा उम्र के चौथे पड़ाव पर पहुंच चुके लोगों को बढ़ावा देता हूं क्योंकि इस समय तक आपके पास जिंदगी का वोतजुर्बा रहता है, जो बच्चों और युवाओं के पास नहीं होता। यह तो सभी जानते हैं कि स्कूली बच्चों का कई कारणों से अपने दादा-दादी के प्रति लगाव होता है। वृद्ध वयस्कों को जीवन के अनुभव का लाभ रहता है, बच्चों के प्रति उनका प्यार बिना शर्त है, वे न्यायपूर्ण हैं अच्छी तरह से संगठित और अनुशासित हैं। सबसे महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि वे सफलता या असफलता की अस्वस्थ दौड़ के प्रति जागरुक रहते हैं।’
डॉ. चटर्जी कहते हैं कि दरअसल, बच्चों और दादा-दादी के बीच संवाद जरूरी है। अपने दादा-दादी से बात करें। उनके साथ 10 मिनट बैठें। उनकी आधी बीमारी बातचीत से दूर की जा सकती है। उन्हें भोजन के साथ ही प्यार और लगाव की जरूरत है। बुजुर्गो को निराशा से बचने की सलाह देते हुए वो बताते हैं, ‘सक्रिय रहने के तरीके हैं कि आप व्यायाम, वॉकिंग, गणित ती समस्याएं सुलझाएं, इंटरनेट पर समय दें, अखबार पढ़ें, कुछ न कुछ करते रहें।’
यह संभव नहीं है। हम उन्हें 24 घंटे खाना नहीं दे सकते, रहने की जगह नहीं दे सकते। कई समस्याएं हैं। इसमें बहुत सारी संस्थाएं काम करती हैं और हम भी उन्हें अपने तरीके से मदद पहुंचाते हैं। भारत में ऐसे कई लोग हैं जिनको सही समय पर चिकित्सा और देखभाल नहीं मिल पाती है ऐसे में हेल्दीएजिंग इंडिया के जरिए हमारा यही उद्देश्य है कि मुख्य रूप से भारत में वृद्धों के लिए घर पर देखभाल, डेकेयर सेंटर या सामुदायिक जीरिएट्रिक्स की अवधारणा जो कि अभी तक विकसित नहींहुई है, वो शुरू की जाए, इसके साथ ही हम दिल्ली/एनसीआर और स्वास्थ्य शिविरों में व्यापक
दिल्ली-एनसीआर के करीब 27 वृद्धाश्रम और लगभग 1777 वयोवृद्ध बुज़ुर्गों की सेवा में ये मोबाईलवैन लगी रहती है. और आगे यह पूरे भारत में शुरू करने योजना है विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन के मुताबिक, भारत में 12 करोड़ बजुर्गसमस्याग्रस्त हैं, जिनमें से 10 प्रतिशत 80 वर्ष से अधिक के हैं, और इनमें उच्च रक्तचाप, हड्डी टूटना, कैल्शियम की कमी, और दिल की बीमारी है। डॉ. चटर्जी 1 लाख से भी ज्यादा लोगों की मदद निःशुल्क कर चुके हैं। वो कहते हैं, ‘जब मैं चेन्नई में था तो जगह-जगह अभियान चलाए, शिविर लगाए। हर महीने हम कहीं न कहीं शिविर के लिए जाते हैं।’
बड़े पैमाने पर देश के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में कमजोर बुजुर्ग लोगों को स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं का विचार पहली बार 2011 में लिया गया था और इसे भारतीय समाज अधिनियम, 1860 के तहत एक संगठन के रूप में पंजीकृत किया गया था। दिसंबर 2013 यह ‘वीकेयरफॉरयू’ के विचार के साथ शुरू हुआ और वर्तमान में यह हेल्दीएजिंग इंडिया के नाम से कार्यरत् है। जिसे एम्स के डॉक्टर प्रसून चटर्जी द्वारा सन 2013 स्थापित किया किया गया था। यह संस्था भारत मे उच्च प्राथमिक शिक्षा, वृद्धजनों के स्वास्थ्य और हेल्थलर्निंग सेंटर जैसे मुद्दों पर कार्य कर रही है।
बुजुर्गों में सक्रिय शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य को बढ़ावा दिया जाता है ताकि वो और बच्चों और युवाओं के दृष्टिकोण को नए आयाम देते हुए गुणवत्ता और नैतिक शिक्षा दे सकें। हेल्दीएजिंग इंडिया के जरिए कई तरह के कार्यक्रम चलाए जा रहे हैं जो शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य पर आधारित हैं। वर्तमान में, आईजीएलसी दिल्ली और एनसीआर के 7 सरकारी स्कूलों में चल रहा है, जिसे बाद में गांधी स्मृति और दर्शन समिति (संस्कृति मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार) के वित्तीय समर्थन के साथ चरणबद्ध तरीके से दिल्ली के 45 एनडीएमसी स्कूलों में विस्तारित किया जाना है।), इसमें ओएनजीसी और अन्य सीएसआर साझेदार हैं। IGLC प्रोजेक्ट सितंबर 2017 में शुरू किया गया था और पद्म राम बहादुर राय द्वारा उद्घाटन किया गया था। अल्प स्वास्थ्य देखभाल सुविधाओं के साथ गरीब बुजुर्गों की समस्याओं को समझने के लिए लगभग 200 वृद्धाश्रम (भारत और विदेश में) खोले गए हैं। लोगों की समस्या से लेकर समाधान तक व्यापक स्वास्थ्य देखभाल के लिए मोबाइल वैनअक्टूबर, 2018 में दिल्ली के एलजी अनिल बैजल द्वारा शुरू की गई थी।
संस्थान कई अभियान जैसे वॉक-ए-थॉन, संगोष्ठी और व्याख्यान श्रृंखला का संचालन सभी उम्र के लोगों और जीवन के सभी क्षेत्रों से करने के लिए शुरू किए हैं। एक अनुमान पर हमने लगभग 20,000 स्कूलों (दिल्ली, गुजरात, उत्तर प्रदेश, आदि) के युवा लोग ‘अपने दादा-दादी को स्वस्थ रखने के उपाय’ पर टीकाकरण, जीवनशैली में संशोधन, उचित और उचित आहार-विहार जैसे विभिन्न निवारक तरीकों को शामिल हुए हैं। निमोनिया की रोकथाम के लिए उत्तर भारत के विभिन्न स्थानों पर निमोनिया से बचाव के लिए टीकाकरण कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जाते हैं और हमारा उद्देश्य उच्च-कैंसर, मधुमेह, हाइपोथायरायडिज्म, विशेष कैंसर आदि डिमेंशियाअवेयरनेसमॉड्यूल्स में सभी व्यापक बीमारियों के बारे में और देखभाल करने वालों को शिक्षित करना है।
