सामाजिक चेतना जगाते कबीर

कबीर की सामाजिक चेतना के संदर्भ में पहली धारणा ये बनती है कि वे समाज सुधारक थे। वस्तुतः कबीर बाह्याडम्बर, मिथ्याचार एवं कर्मकांड के विरोधी थे। परन्तु सामाजिक मान्यताओं का विरोध करते समय वे सर्व-निषेधात्मक मुद्रा कभी नहीं अपनाते थे। कबीर अपने समय में प्रचलित हठयोग की साधना, वैष्णव मत, इस्लाम तथा अनेक प्रकार की साधना पद्धतियों से परिचित थे। उन्होंने सबकी आलोचना की, किन्तु उनका सारतत्व समाहित किया। एक भक्त के रूप में उन्होंने शुष्क ज्ञान साधना से आगे बढ़कर संसार के साथ भावनात्मक संबंध स्थापित किया। उन्हें मानव समाज की विषमाताओं से पीड़ित होने और समाज को उबारने की छटपटाहट भी प्रदान की। कबीर की सामाजिक चेतना उनकी भक्ति भावना का ही एक पक्ष है।
कबीर की सामाजिक चेतना या समाज सुधारक व्यक्तित्व पर विचार करने से पूर्व यह जान लेना आवश्यक है कि क्या मध्यकालीन सामाजिक व्यवस्था से जुड़ी हुई समस्याओं को धार्मिक तथा राजनीतिक समस्या से बिल्कुल अलग करके देखा जा सकता है। एक क्षण के लिए मध्यकालीन या कबीर कालीन समाज को दरकिनार करके अपने आधुनिक समाज को देख लिया जाए तो बात कुछ अधिक साफ ढंग से समझ में आ जायेगी। आज के समाज की अनेक समस्याओं में से सबसे बड़ी और प्रमुख समस्या है धार्मिक कट्टरपन। इसी धार्मिक कट्टरता या साम्प्रदायिकता के कारण एक आदमी दूसरे आदमी के खून का प्यासा बन जाता है जिसके कारण समाज में व्यक्तियों का सह अस्तित्व ही खतरे में पड़ जाता है जो सामाजिक संगठन की मूलभूत आवश्यकता है।
जहाँ तक कबीर के समाज सुधारक होने का प्रश्न है, यह निर्विवाद सत्य है कि वे बुद्ध, गाँधी, अम्बेडकर इत्यादि क्रांतिकारी समाज सुधारकों की परम्परा में शामिल होते हैं। एक महान समाज सुधारक की मूल पहचान यह है कि वह अपने युग की विसंगतियों की पहचान करें, एक मौलिक व समयानुकूल जीवन दृष्टि प्रस्तावित करें और इस जीवन दृष्टि को स्थापित करने के लिए हर प्रकार के भय और लालच से मुक्त होकर दृढ़तापूर्वक संघर्ष करें। कबीर के व्यक्तित्व का विश्लेषण करें तो हम समझ सकते हैं कि वे जिस सामंतवादी युग में थे वह सामाजिक दृष्टि से अपकर्ष का काल था। विलासिता जैसे मूल्य समाज में फैले हुए थे। नारी को भोग की वस्तु माना जाता था। वर्णव्यवस्था और साम्प्रदायिकता ने मानव समाज को खंडित किया था। धर्म का आडम्बरकारी रूप वास्तविक धार्मिकता को निगल चुका था और भाषा से लेकर जीवन शैली तक एक प्रकार का आभिजात्य उच्च वर्गों की मानसिकता में बैठा हुआ था। ऐसे समय में कबीर ने मानव मात्र की एकता का सवाल उठाया और स्पष्ट घोषणा की कि ‘‘साई के सब जीव हैं, कीरी कुंजर दोय।’’ वे समाज के प्रति अति संवेदनशीलता से भरे रहे क्योंकि ‘सुखिया’ संसार खाता और सोता रहा जबकि संसार की वास्तविकता समझकर ‘दुखिया’ कबीर जागते और रोते रहे। यह निम्नलिखित पंक्ति से स्पष्ट हो जाता है-
‘‘सुखिया सब संसार है, खावै अरु सोवै ।
दुखिया दास कबीर है, जागै अरु रोवै।’’
यह संवेदनशीलता निष्क्रिय नहीं थी बल्कि इतनी ज्यादा दृढ़ता और आत्मविश्वास से भरी थी कि बेहतर समाज के निर्माण के लिए कबीर अपना घर फूँकने को पूर्णतः तैयार थे-
‘‘हम घर जारा आपना, लिया मुराड़ा हाथ ।
अब घर जारौं तासु का, जो चलै हमारे साथ ।।’’
कबीर के समाज के प्रति यही दृष्टिकोण वर्णव्यवस्था, साम्प्रदायिकता, भाषाई आभिजात्य और धार्मिक आडम्बरों के कठोर खंडन में साफ दिखाई पड़ता है। उल्लेखनीय है कि भारतीय सामाजिक व्यवस्था को धार्मिक व्यवस्था से बहुत अलग करके नहीं देखा जा सकता है। जहाँ जाति-भेद, वर्ण-भेद धार्मिक व्यवस्था का ही परिणाम है, जहाँ पति-पत्नी का सम्बन्ध आध्यात्मिक बन्धन है, जहाँ व्यक्ति, परिवार और समाज के पारस्परिक सम्बन्धों का मूलाधार धर्म हैं, वहाँ सामाजिकता धार्मिकता से अलग कैसे हो सकती है।
भारतीय दर्शन का बहुविख्यात सिद्धान्त अद्वैतवाद तत्वतः ब्रह्म की सत्ता को सत्य और शेष को असत्य मानता है। कबीर ने दर्शन के इस सूत्र का सामाजिक समता के लिए उपयोग किया। जब एक ही तत्व सर्वत्र सब घट में व्याप्त है तो भेद-भाव कहाँ से पैदा हो जाता है-
‘‘एकहि जोत सकल घट व्यापक, दूजा तत्व न होई।
कहै कबीर सुनौ रे संतो, भटकि मरै जनि कोई ।।’’
कबीर ने परिस्थितियों के अभिशाप से धर्म को बचाने के लिए विश्व-धर्म की रूपरेखा प्रस्तुत की। उन्होंने घोषणा की कि सबका ईश्वर एक ही है। मुसलमान और हिन्दू भले ही विविध नामों से अपने ईश्वर को पुकारे तथापि उनके ईश्वर में किसी भी प्रकार की भिन्नता नहीं है। सत्य एक है, भले ही संप्रदाय अनेक हो। उन्होंने कहा –
‘‘हम तो एक-एक कर जाना।
दोय कहैं तिनको है दो जग, जिन नाहीं पहिचाना ।।
एकै पवन एक ही पानी एक ज्योति संसारा ।
एक ही खाक घड़े सब भांडे, एक ही सिरजन हारा ।।’’
कबीरदास ने यह भी अनुभव किया था कि जाति व्यवस्था को अगर शिथिल न किया जाएगा, तो धर्म की रक्षा संभव न हो सकेगी। इसलिए जाति बंधन की परंपरा तोड़ने के लिए उन्होंने अभूतपूर्व प्रयत्न किया।
‘‘जाति-पाति पूछै नहिं कोई, हरि को भजै सो हरि का कोई’’
के सिद्धान्त की प्रतिष्ठा कर उन्होंने धर्म को सशक्त और सुसंगठित किया। जाति भेद की संकीर्णता जिस हद तक पहुँच गयी थी, उसका स्पष्ट संकेत कबीर की रचनाओं में मिलता है।
‘‘तुम कत् बाम्हन हमकत सूद ।
हम कत् लोहू तुम कत् दूध ।।
कह कबीर जे ब्रह्म विचारे ।
सो ब्राह्मा कहियतु है हमारे ।।’’
