भारतीय संस्कृति में साड़ी का महत्व
भारतीय साड़ी दुनिया में सबसे पुराने परिधान के रूप में जानी जाती है। जिसका उल्लेख ऋग्वेद में भी किया गया है।
साड़ी को विश्व मे सबसे लम्बा और पौराणिक वस्त्र कहा गया है जो लगभग 5 से 6 गज लम्बी होती हैI भारत में इसे लगभग 11 से 12 अलग-अलग तरीको से पहना जाता है।
भारतीय संस्कृति मे साड़ी को स्त्री के सम्मान, अस्मिता एवं रक्षा का प्रतीक माना गया है। जिसका वर्णन महाभारत मे द्रोपदी चीर हरण के प्रसंग मे भी है।
भारत मे लगभग 30 से अधिक किस्मो की साड़ी प्रचलित है। साड़ी की बुनाई, रंगाई, छपाई के लिए भारत सबसे प्रसिद्ध देश माना जाता है। जिसमे रेशम व हाथ से बनी सूती की साड़ी सबसे अधिक महंगी और बढ़िया मानी जाती है।
भारत मे आज भी हैंडलूम की साड़ियों का विशेष प्रचलन है। साड़ी भारतीय महिलाओं का पहनावा ही नहीं बल्कि उनके लिए भारतीय संस्कृति का प्रतीक भी है।
एक अध्यन के अनुसार साड़ी स्वस्थ्य के लिए बहुत बढ़िया वस्त्र के रूप मे जानी जाती है। भारत के अलावा विदेशी महिलाएँ भी साड़ी को बहुत ही चाव से पहनना पसन्द करती है।
