जी हां सुनकर आपको कुछ अटपटा सा लगे लेकिन यह सच है। पुराने जमाने में सभी राजा-महाराजाओं के रथ को घोड़े ही खींचते थे। इसे आपने कई बार किस्से कहानियों में सुना होगा और टीवी शो में देखा भी होगा। हालांकि टीवी शो में रावण के रथ को गधों द्वारा खींचते नहीं दिखाया गया है। जिसके पीछे शायद सामाजिक बाध्याताएं हो लेकिन अगर आप वाल्मीकि रामायण की बात करें तो उसमें रावण के रथ में गधे लगे होने का जिक्र किया गया है। जी हाँ दशानन के रथ को घोड़े नहीं बल्कि गधे खींचते थे।
रावण को देखकर डर गए थे उसके पिता
कहावत तो सुनी ही होगी ना आपने कि पूत के पैर पालने में ही दिख जाते हैं। लेकिन इस बार पूत के पैर नहीं बल्कि मुख को देखकर रावण के पिता भयक्रांत हो गए थे। पुराणों की माने तो रावण के पिता का नाम विश्रवा था जो कि बहुत बड़े ऋषि थे। लेकिन रावण की मां कैकसी एक राक्षसी थी। धार्मिक कथाओं की माने तो रावण का जब जन्म हुआ था प्राकृतिक वातावरण ने भी चारों दिशाओं सहित इसकी अपनी एक अभिव्यक्ति दी थी। कहते हैं जन्म के समय रावण का रूप काफी डराने वाला था। और तो क्या ही डरे होंगे रावण को देख कर खुद उसके पिता ऋषि विश्रवा डर गए थे।
धन के देवता कुबेर और रावण के बीच क्या थे संबंध
धार्मिक ग्रंथों के मुताबिक, लंकापति रावण के पिता ऋषि विश्रवा की पहली पत्नी झड़विड़ा थी। कुबेर ऋषि विश्रवा और झड़विड़ा के संतान थे और रावण ऋषि विश्रवा और राक्षस रानी कैकसी की संतान। दोनों के पिता थे ऋषि विश्रवा, इस नाते रावण और कुबेर का संबंध भाई का था। पौराणिक कथाओं में तो यह भी सुनने को मिलता है कि रामायण में जिस लंका के बारे में आपने सुना है वह रावण का था ही नहीं बल्कि वह रावण के भाई कुबेर का था जिसे उसने लंका से भगा दिया था और लंका पर खुद का राज स्थापित कर लिया था। रावण के अतातायी व्यवहार से खुद उसका भाई कुबेर भी बहुत परेशान थे। कहते हैं रावण के पास जो पुष्पक विमान था वह भी उसके भाई कुबेर का ही था। जिसे उसने छीन लिया था।
आखिर क्यूँ रावण माता सीता को स्पर्श नहीं कर पाया
कहते हैं रावण के व्यभिचार से पूरी दुनिया परेशान रहती थी। रावण के इन्हीं कृत्यों से परेशान होकर एक बार अप्सरा रंभा ने रावण को श्राप दिया था कि अगर उसने किसी भी स्त्री को उसकी मर्जी के बिना स्पर्श किया तो, उसके सिर के हजारों टुकड़े हो जाएंगे। पुराणों में तो जिक्र है कि रंभा के इस श्राप के कारण रावण स्वयं की पत्नी मनदोदरी को भी उसके मर्जी के बिना स्पर्श नहीं करता था। इसी श्राप ने रामायण काल में पतिव्रत धारण किए सीता की लाज की रक्षा की। और रावण कभी भी उन्हें स्पर्श नहीं कर पाया।
शनि देव को क्यूँ बंदी बना लिया था
जिस शनि देव से दुनिया डरती है। कहते हैं रावण उसे भी धत्ता बता कर अपने सिरहाने बांध रखा था। बात तब कि है जब रावण का पुत्र मेघनाद का जन्म होना था और इसके लिए सभी शुभ लग्नों को रावण ने उचित स्थिति में रहने का आदेश दिया था। सभी ग्रहों और लग्नों की स्थिति मेघनाद के जन्म के समय उचित जगह पर हो रावण ने इसकी व्यवस्था कर रखी थी। लेकिन शनि देव तो शनि देव ठहरे स्वभाव से जल्दी ना हिलने वाले । कहते हैं ना कि जो शनि की दशा में फंसा लंबा जाता है इसलिए रावण ने उन्हें भी आदेश दिया कि वह मेघनाद के जन्म के समय उचित स्थान पर रहे लेकिन शनिदेव ने ऐसा करने से मना कर दिया और फिर क्या था रावण ने शनि देव को बंदी बना कर अपने महल ले आया और अपने सिराहने रख लिया। शास्त्रों में तो यह भी कहा गया है कि यह रावण की मूर्खता ही थी कि उसने उस शनि को सिरहाने बांध लिया जिसकी छाया मात्र से बचने के लिए लोग दूर भागते हैं। और शायद इसी कारण रावण का अंत भी हुआ था।
