दिल्ली में आयोजित हो रही है पहली बिम्सटेक एक्वेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप 2024
BIMSTEC Aquatics Championship 2024: केंद्रीय युवा मामले और खेल मंत्री अनुराग सिंह ठाकुर ने मंगलवार को नई दिल्ली में बिम्सटेक एक्वेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप 2024 की शुरुआत की। आपको बता दें कि बिम्सटेक एक्वेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप इस साल पहली बार आयोजित की जा रही है। कार्यक्रम को आयोजित करते हुए अनुराग सिंह ठाकुर ने कहा कि दुनिया की लगभग 25 फीसदी आबादी दक्षिण एशिया और दक्षिण पूर्व एशियाई क्षेत्र में रहती है। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि बिम्सटेक के सातों देशों का एक साथ आना ना सिर्फ यात्रा और परिवहन को आसान बनाता है बल्कि विकास और सहयोग की दिशा भी दिखाता है।
केंद्रीय मंत्री श्री ठाकुर ने कहा कि इस तरह के आयोजनों से न केवल बिम्सटेक देशों की दोस्ती गहरी होगी बल्कि एक गहरी खेल संस्कृति का भी निर्माण होगा, जिससे एथलीटों के बीच आपसी संबंध बेहतर होंगे बल्कि भाईचारा भी बढ़ेगा। उनका कहना है कि इस विचार की कल्पना प्रधानमंत्री मोदी के विचारों जैसी है।
आपको बता दें कि इस खेल प्रतियोगिता के आयोजन की घोषणा प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने चौथे बिम्सटेक शिखर सम्मेलन के दौरान कर दी थी। हालांकि बिम्सटेक एक्वेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप का आयोजन साल 2021 में होना प्रस्तावित था लेकिन दुनिया भर में कोविड महामारी के कारण इसे 2024 के लिए स्थगित करना पड़ा।
इस चार दिवसीय पहली बिम्सटेक एक्वेटिक्स चैंपियनशिल का आयोजन डॉ श्यामा प्रसाद मुखर्जी स्विमिंग पूल कॉम्पलेक्स में आयोजित किया जा रहा है। प्रतियोगिता में तैराकी, वाटर पोलो और डाइविंग से जुड़े खेल शामिल रहेंगे, जिसमें करीब 268 खिलाड़ी शामिल होंगे। इस प्रतियोगिता में कुल 39 पदक के साथ-साथ 9 ट्रॉफियां दी जाएंगी।
