भारत में मंदिरों की अपनी अलग-अलग मान्यताएं हैं। मंदिरों में जाकर भक्तों को न सिर्फ मानसिक शांति का अनुभव होता है बल्कि उन्हें अपनी परेशानियों से छुटकारा भी मिलता है। आज मंदिरों की विशेषताओं पर बात करते हुए हम एक ऐसे मंदिर की बात करेंगे,जहां जाने से महिलाएं गर्भवती हो जाती है| जी हां हम बात कर रहे हैं हिमाचल प्रदेश के कांगड़ा जिले के सिमसा गांव में स्थित सिमसा माता मंदिर की। यह मंदिर शारदा देवी को समर्पित है।
आपको बता दें कि यह मंदिर बैजनाथ नगर से लगभग 30 किलोमीटर और पालमपुर से लगभग 17 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। लोगों की मान्यताओं के अनुसार, जो भी निःसंतान महिलाएं इस मंदिर के फर्श पर सोती है उन्हें संतान की प्राप्ति होती है|
नवरात्री में यहाँ एक उत्सव भी आयोजित किया जाता है जिसे “सलिन्दरा” कहा जाता है| सलिन्दरा का अर्थ होता है स्वप्न आना। ज्यादातर लोग यहां नवरात्री के समय आते है और निःसंतान महिलाएं इस मंदिर के फर्श में सोती है। जिसके बाद उनके सपने में माता आकर दर्शन देती है| मान्यता यह भी है कि माता शिशु के लिंग अर्थात बच्चा लड़का होगा या लड़की, की पहचान भी करती हैं| अगर किसी महिला को सपने में अमरूद का फल दिखता है, तो उसे लड़का होगा। वहीं अगर भिंडी दिखती है तो लड़की। इसके अलावा यदि महिला को सपने में कोई धातु, लकड़ी या वस्तु दिखती है तो, इसका अर्थ यह है कि उसे कोई संतान नहीं होगी। यह भी कहा जाता है कि निःसंतान का सपना दिखने पर अगर कोई महिला वहां से अपना बिस्तरा नहीं हटाती तो, उसके पूरे शरीर में खुजली से लाल दाग़ होने लगता है|

मंदिर परिसर में एक पत्थर भी रखा है, जिसकी मान्यता कुछ ऐसी है कि अगर कोई व्यक्ति दोनों हाथों से पत्थर को हिलाएगा तो, पत्थर टस से मस नहीं होगा वही अगर कोई अपने हाथ की सबसे छोटी ऊँगली से हिलाएगा तो यह हिल जायेगा| यह पत्थर और मंदिर अपने आप में ही रहस्यमय है, जिसका पता वैज्ञानिक भी नहीं लगा सकते|
