कबड्डी यानी वह खेल, जो गांव के अखाड़ों से होकर अब पूरी दुनिया में छा गया है. कबड्डी का नाम सुनते ही हम सब को बचपन में खेले गए इस खेल की यादें ताज़ा हो जाती है. जो लोग गांव से आते हैं, उनमें से शायद ही ऐसा कोई व्यक्ति हो जिसने अपने बचपन में यह खेल न खेला हो. कबड्डी को कई जगह हू-तू-तू और चेडूगुडू के नाम से भी जाना जाता है. यह खेल भारत के पड़ोसी देश नेपाल, बांग्लादेश, श्रीलंका और पाकिस्तान में भी उतना ही लोकप्रिय है.कबड्डी, बांग्लादेश का राष्ट्रीय खेल है.
कहां से आया कबड्डी ?
मिट्टी में खेले जाना वाले ये खेल भले ही आज पूरी दुनिया में अपना डंका बजा रहा हो लेकिन क्या आपको पता है कबड्डी कहाँ से आया और इस खेल का श्रेय किसे जाता है? कबड्डी भारत का प्राचीन खेल है. ऊर्जा और रफ़्तार से भरे इस खेल का विवरण वैदिक युग में भी मिलता है. लेकिन इसके नाम को लेकर भारत से ईरान का विवाद बना हुआ है. मौजूदा कबड्डी के विकास का श्रेय महाराष्ट्र को जाता है.
1915 से 1920 तक कबड्डी के नियम बनना शुरू हुए. 1936 बर्लिन ओलंपिक कबड्डी को शामिल किया गया. इसके बाद 1938 में कबड्डी को कोल्कता नेशनल गेम्स में जगह मिली. देश की आजादी के तीन साल बाद 1950 ऑल इंडियन कबड्डी फेडरेशन बना जिसके द्वारा कबड्डी के औपचारिक नियम बनाये गए, आल इंडियन कबड्डी फेडरेशन 1972 में द अमेच्योर कबड्डी फेडरेशन ऑफ़ इंडिया में तब्दील हो गया.
रास्ट्रीय स्तर पर डंका बजाने के बाद अब इस खेल को अंतररास्ट्रीय स्तर पर भी खेला जाने लगा. बांग्लादेश देश को आजाद हुए कुछ ही वक़्त हुआ था की बांग्लादेश ने कबड्डी को अपना राष्ट्रीय खेल घोषित कर दिया.
लोकप्रियता बढ़ी है कबड्डी की
1982 में दिल्ली में आयोजित एशियाई खेलो में कबड्डी को जगह मिली और 1990 में हुए बीजिंग एशियाई खेलो में इसे शामिल किया. 2004 में पहला कबड्डी विश्व कप खेला गया. पुरुष कबड्डी से प्रेरित होकर 2012 का महिलाओं का पहला विश्व कप खेला गया.
2014 में इस खेल को मेनस्ट्रीम खेलों की गिनती में गिना जाने लगा. यह कारनामा करके दिखाया इंडियन प्रो कबड्डी लीग ने. आई.पी.एल की राह पे 2014 में इडियन प्रो कबड्डी लीग का आगाज चार टीमों के साथ हुई. इस वक़्त कबड्डी पर भारत का बोल-बाला है. पिछले तीन एशियाई खेल में भी कबड्डी को शामिल करने से जापान और कोरिया जैसे देशों में भी कबड्डी की लोकप्रियता बढ़ी है. भारत ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर कई मेडल जीते है. यह कह पाना मुश्किल है की भारत का राज कबड्डी पर कब तक टिका रहेगा लेकिन कबड्डी का अस्तित्व हमेशा था, है और हमेशा रहेगा.
