तेलुगु फिल्मों की दिग्गज अभिनेत्री एवं निर्देशक जी विजया निर्मला ने अपनी कला से लोगों का मन मोहा. प्रख्यात अभिनेता कृष्णा की पत्नी और तेलुगु स्टार महेश बाबू की सौतेली मां विजया निर्मला बतौर महिला फिल्म निर्देशक 44 फिल्मों के निर्देशन का गिनीज वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड अपने नाम कर चुकी हैं. 26 जून को उनका निधन हो गया. उनके निधन को भारतीय सिनेमाई जगह में एक अपूरणीय क्षति माना जा रहा है. वह 73 वर्ष की थीं. उन्होंने गाचीबावली के कॉन्टिनेंटल हॉस्पटिल में अंतिम सांस ली.
एक प्रमुख महिला कलाकार के रूप में उन्होंने फिल्म ‘रंगुला रत्नम’ में वाणीस्त्री और अंजलि देवी के साथ तेलुगु फिल्म में डेब्यू किया. 1967 में तेलुगु फिल्म ‘साक्षी’ के सेट पर उनकी मुलाकात अभिनेता कृष्णा से हुई जिसके साथ उन्होंने 47 फिल्मों में काम किया और आखिरकार दोनों ने शादी कर ली. हालांकि यह उनकी दूसरी शादी थी. विजया निर्मला ने 44 फिल्मों का निर्देशन किया। एक फिल्म निर्माता के तौर पर उन्हें शिवाजी गणेशन और रजनीकांत जैसे चर्चित कलाकारों को निर्देशित करने का सौभाग्य मिला.
तमिलनाडु में 20 फरवरी,1946 को जन्मीं विजया निर्मला ने सात साल की उम्र में फिल्म जगत में प्रवेश किया था और तेलुगु, तमिल और मलयालम भाषा की 200 से अधिक फिल्मों में अभिनय किया. उन्होंने तेलुगु के साथ अन्य भाषाओं की फिल्मों का भी निर्देशन किया. निर्मला ने अपने करियर की शुरुआत बतौर बाल कलाकार से की थी. महज पांच साल की उम्र में साल 1950 में तमिल फिल्म ‘मच्चा रेकाई’ से उन्होंने एक्टिंग में अपना डेब्यू किया और इसके चार साल बाद फिल्म ‘पांडुरंग महाथयाम’ से उन्होंने तेलुगु फिल्म के क्षेत्र में कदम रखा. साल 1964 में आई मलयालय फिल्म ‘भार्गवी निलयम’ से वह लोगों के बीच मशहूर हुईं. इसके बाद मशहूर मलयालय कलाकार प्रेम नजीर के साथ ‘उद्योगस्था’ में काम करने का उन्हें दोबारा मौका मिला.
उनकी अन्य निर्देशकीय परियोजनाओं में ‘राउडी रंगम्मा’, ‘सीरिमल्ले नव्वेनदी’, ‘बेजवाड़ा बेबुल्ली’ और ‘कलेक्टर विजया’ सहित और भी कई फिल्में शामिल हैं. एक महिला फिल्म निर्माता द्वारा निर्देशित अधिकांश फिल्मों के लिए उनका नाम गिनीज बुक ऑफ वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड में भी दर्ज है. तेलुगु फिल्म जगत के सदस्यों ने इस दौरान ट्वीट कर उन्हें याद किया. एन. टी. रामा राव जूनियर ने लिखा, “अग्रणी फिल्म निर्माता जिनकी जिंदगी कई लोगों के लिए प्रेरणा है. अभिनेता नितिन ने कहा कि उनका निधन तेलुगु इंडस्ट्री के लिए एक बहुत बड़ा नुकसान है. अभिनेता सुधीर बाबू ने विजया निर्मला के वर्णन ‘एक मां जैसी व्यक्तित्व’ के रूप में किया.
