जानिए भारतीय संस्कृति में तिलक का महत्व
भारतीय संस्कृति में तिलक लगाने की परंपरा प्राचीन काल से चली आ रही है। भारतीय संस्कृति में माथे पर तिलक लगाने की परंपरा पौराणिक है क्योंकि साधु-संतों के माथे पर तिलक की चमक हम शुरु से देखते आ रहे हैं। जनमानस अपने दैनिक जीवन में विशेष रुप से हर पूजा-त्यौहार में मस्तक पर तिलक धारण करते हैं। हालांकि भारतीय परंपरा में 12 स्थानों पर तिलक लगाने का विधान है, मगर मस्तक पर तिलक धारण करने के अनेक लाभ होते हैं।
मस्तक पर तिलक चार प्रकार के तिलक लगाए जाते हैं। कुमकुम, केसर, चंदन और भस्म।
कुमकुम अर्थात सिंदूर का तिलक आज्ञा चक्र को जागृत करता है। कुमकुम का तिलक शक्ति का प्रतीक माना जाता है। शास्त्रों के अनुसार कुमकुम का तिलक लगाने से निराशा में कमी आती है और सकारात्मक ऊर्जा का संचार होता है।
केसर के साथ हल्दी मिलाकर तिलक के रुप में लगाया जाता है। इसे किसी विशेष यात्रा पर निकलने से पहले माथे पर लगाया जाता है। हल्दी को ऐसे भी शुभता का प्रतीक माना जाता है इसलिए हल्दी केसर युक्त तिलक लगाने से अमंगल होने की आशंका में कमी आती है।
तिलक लगाने के लिए लोग विभिन्न उंगलियों का भी प्रयोग करते हैं, जिसकी अपनी महिमा होती है। मध्यमा अंगुली से लगाया जाने वाला आर्थिक रुप से मजबूती की ओर अग्रसर करता है। मध्यमा अंगुली से चंदन का तिलक लगाए जाने पर सौभाग्य की प्राप्ति होती है।
अनामिका अंगुली से लगाया जाना वाला तिलक मानसिक बल प्रदान करता है। आज्ञा चक्र को जागृत करने और मान-सम्मान बढ़ाने के लिए अनामिका अंगुली से तिलक लगाना शुभ होता है।
अंगूठे से तिलक लगाने से धन-वैभव की प्राप्ति होती है। सेहत कमजोर रहने पर अंगूठे से मस्तक पर चंदन का तिलक लगाने से स्वास्थ्य में वृद्धि होती है।
कुछ लोग गलती और अज्ञानतावश तर्जनी अंगूली से मस्तक पर तिलक लगा लेते हैं। ऐसा कभी नहीं करना चाहिए क्योंकि तर्जनी अंगुली से तिलक लगाने पर असमय मृत्यु की संभावना बढ़ जाती है। तर्जनी अंगुली से मृतक को तिलक लगाया जाता है ताकि उसे मोक्ष की प्राप्ति हो।
तिलक लगाते समय में अंतर्मन का भाव शांत होना चाहिए ताकि तिलक का प्रभाव पूर्ण रूप से मिल सके।
