बर्बरीक से खाटू श्याम बनने की कहानी, आस्था और विश्वास का प्रतीक।
KHATU SHYAM JI: हारे का सहारा खाटू-श्याम हमारा। इस तरह की लाइनें आपने भारत के पश्चिमी राज्यों के बसों, निजी वाहनों और घरों की दीवारों पर देखी होंगी। लेकिन क्या आपको पता है कि सिर्फ सर वाले भगवान के पीछे की कहानी क्या है। खाटू-श्याम को भगवान श्री कृष्ण का कलयुगी अवतार माना जाता है। राजस्थान के सीकर जिले में इनका एक बड़ा भव्य मंदिर भी स्थित है। जहां हर रोज हजारों-लाखों की संख्या में श्रद्धालु जाते हैं। पश्चिम भारत के राज्यों में निवास करने वाले मानते हैं कि बाबा श्याम सभी की मुरादें पूरी करते हैं और पल भर में रंक को राजा भी बना सकते हैं।
कौन हैं खाटू श्याम-
खाटू-श्यामजी भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के कलयुगी अवतार हैं। अगर आपने महाभारत पढ़ा हो, सुना हो या टीवी पर देखा हो तो। महाभारत के महाबलशाली योद्धा भीम के बारे में तो जानते ही होंगे। जी हां उसी हजारों हाथी की बल से संपूर्ण भीम का पुत्र घटोत्कच का पुत्र था बर्बरिक। यानी कि पौत्र या पोता। आधुनिक समय में हम हारे का सहारा, खाटू श्याम हमारा कह कर जिने पुकारते हैं वो यहीं बर्बरिक हैं। बर्बरीक को ही बाबा खाटू श्यामजी कहते हैं। बर्बरीक की माता का नाम हिडिम्बा था। वह एक राक्षस कुल की कन्या थी।
कैसे बने बर्बरीक से खाटू श्याम-
अपने वनवास काटने के दौरान पांडवों की मुलाकात हिडिंबा नाम की राक्षसी से हुआ। हिडिंबा भीम को अपने पति रूप में प्राप्त करना चाहती थी। माता कुंती की आज्ञा से भीम और हिडिंबा का विवाह संपन्न हुआ। इन दोनों के मिलन से इनको एक पुत्र की प्राप्ति हुई। जिसका नाम था घटोत्कच। घटोत्कच को कालांतर में एक पुत्र की प्राप्त हुआ बर्बरीक। बर्बरीक अपने पिता घटोत्कच से भी ज्यादा शक्तिशाली और मायावी था। बर्बरीक देवी का बहुत बड़ा उपासक था। देवी के वरदान स्वरूप उसे तीन दिव्य बाण प्राप्त थे जो अपने लक्ष्य को भेदने के बाद वापस उसके पास लौट आते थे। इस कारण बर्बरीक सारे संसार में अजेय हो गया था।
जब माहभारत का युद्ध चल रहा था। तो महाभारत का युद्ध देखने की लालसा लिए उसने अपनी मां से वहां जाने की आज्ञा मांगी और मां ने आज्ञा देने के साथ यह भी कहा कि तुम उसकी मदद करना जो यह युद्ध हार रहा हो। श्रीकृष्ण को जब यह सब ज्ञात हुआ तो वे बर्बरीक को रोकने के लिए एक ब्राहण का रूप धारण कर उसके सामने आ गए। और बर्बरी को कुरूक्षेत्र की ओर जाने का कारण पूछा। बर्बरी ने कुरूक्षेत्र जाने का कारण बताया और साथ ही यह भी बताया कि वह वहां जाकर उस पक्ष की मदद करेगा जो हार रहा होगा। श्रीकृष्ण को पता था कि उस वक्त युद्ध के मैदान में कौरव कमजोर हो रहे थे। ऐसे में अगर बर्बरीक ने उनकी मदद कर दिया तो युद्ध का परिणाम बदल जाएगा। इस पर श्रीकृष्ण ने उससे पूछा कि वह कुरूक्षेत्र जाकर कैसे मदद करेगा। तब उसने बताया कि उसके पास बाण हैं जिससे वह क्षण भर में युद्ध को समाप्त कर देगा।
इसपर भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने उसकी परीक्षा लेने की सोची और कहा कि तुम बस इस पेड़ के सभी पत्तों को भेद दो और चुपके से उस पेड़ के एक पत्ते को अपने पांव के नीचे छिपा लिया। फिर क्या था बर्बरीक ने अपने दिव्य बाण को छोड़ा और उस बाण ने पेड़ के सभी पत्तों को भेदते हुए श्रीकृष्ण के पांव के नीचे दबाये गये पत्ते को भेदने के लिए श्रीकृष्ण के पांव को भी भेद दिया। बर्बरीक के इस क्षमता से श्रीकृष्ण काफी हैरान और अचंभित हुए। और बर्बरीक को रोकने के लिए उन्होंने ब्राह्मण स्वरूप में उससे शीश दान देने की याचना की। बर्बरीक को जब इस माया के बारे में पता लगा तो उसने ब्राह्मण को उसके वास्तविक स्वरूप में आने को कहा। जिसपर भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के वास्तविक स्वरूप को देख कर उन्होंने हंसते हंसते उन्हें अपना शीश दान में दे दिया। बर्बरीक की इस भक्ति से प्रसन्न् होकर भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने उन्हें कलयुग में बाबा श्याम के रूप में पूजे जाने का आशीर्वाद दिया। जिसके बाद स्वप्न दर्शनोपरांत बाबा श्याम, खाटू धाम में स्थित श्याम कुण्ड से प्रकट हुए थे।
आज तो देश के कई हिस्सों में खाटू श्याम का मंदिर आपको देखने को मिल जाएगा। उनके भक्तों में इतनी आस्था है कि वह अपने सुखों का श्रेय उन्हीं को देते हैं। भक्त कहते हैं कि बाबा खाटू श्याम सभी की मुरादें पूरी करते हैं और आस लगाने वालों की झोली कभी खाली नहीं रहने देते।
