समय के साथ परिस्थितियां, आवश्यकताएं, सोच-विचार, जीवन-शैली सभी में परिवर्तन हो रहा है और परिवर्तन की मांग प्रबल भी हो रही है। जो समय के साथ नहीं बदल सकते, वो जीवन के दौर में पीछे छूट सकते हैं। पुरानी पीढ़ी पुराने मूल्यों, परंपराओं से जुड़ी रहना चाहती है और नयी पीढ़ी, नये मूल्यों को तलाशती है। अतः परस्पर असहमति एवं विभेद की संभावना बनी रहती है।
वैचारिक मतभेद और असहमति, ये मानव जीवन शैली का हिस्सा ही है। ये मतभेद हम उम्र लोगों के बीच भी होता है , किन्तु जब दो पीढ़ियों के बीच कोई वैचारिक मतभेद हो तो उसे हम जनरेशन गैप का नाम दे देते हैं।
समय परिवर्तन शील है और मानव प्रगतिशील। नित्य नए प्रयोग और अनुसंधान और तत्पश्चात , उनके परिणामों को तरक्की का नाम दिया जाता है।
तरक्की विज्ञान की है या विचारों की, इसमें सामंजस्य नहीं बिठा पाता है अक्सर। परंपराओं की अवहेलना भी हिस्सा बन जाती है उस तरक्की का। फिर बड़ों का उस माहौल को अस्वीकार करना जनरेशन गैप दिखाई देता है।
जनरेशन गैप की चर्चा करने से मेरी आंखों के सामने दो परिवार आते हैं , जिनकी लघु समीक्षा करना चाहूंगी। इसी तरह के चित्र आप सभी अपने आस पास देखते होंगे।
एक परिवार है जिसमें बेटा बहू अपने सास ससुर तो क्या दादी सास और दादा ससुर की भी देखभाल बहुत अच्छे से करते हैं, पोते पोती भी दादा दादी की थाली में ही खाना खाते हैं, उन्हीं के पास खेलते हैं और सोते भी हैं । कुल मिलाकर सबकुछ मिलजुल कर चलता रहता है। तो गैप का प्रश्न ही नहीं, यहां तो बुजुर्गों को पूछकर ही बड़ा निर्णय लिया जाता है। बुजुर्ग भी कब, कैसे सबकी खुशियों में शामिल होते होते , समय के साथ ढल जाते हैं और विदेश में रह रहे बच्चों से इंटरनेट पर चेकिंग भी कर लेते हैं। बड़ी सहजता से सब तकनीकी उपयोग सीख जाते हैं।
वहीं एक दूसरा परिवार है जहां पढ़ी लिखी, सभ्य बहू, अपने बच्चों को दादा दादी के निकट भेजने में कतराती है कि वे उन्हें उद्दंड बना देंगे और अनुशासन नहीं सीख पाएंगे बच्चे। ये अतिउत्साहित दंपति बच्चों को बड़ों के लाड दुलार और प्रेम से वंचित रखता है और धीरे धीरे माता पिता के विचारों का प्रभाव गहरा होता जाता है और दादा दादी के साथ मेल नहीं खाता, फलस्वरूप जनरेशन गैप बढ़ जाता है, यहां खुशहाली की बजाय चुप्पी ज्यादा है।
अविश्वास, प्रेम की कमी, जिम्मेदारी के अहसास की कमी, स्वार्थी प्रकृति , घमंड और आत्म मुग्धता आदि के कारण इस परिवार में जनरेशन गैप बढ़ जाता है, फलस्वरूप मतभेद, लड़ाइयां, कलह, अशांति आदि इस परिवार का हिस्सा बन जाते हैं।
क ई बार ओल्ड एज होम की जरूरत भी इसीलिए महसूस होती है, जहां वे अपने हम उम्र लोगों के बीच रहकर अपनी बातें, अनुभव, किस्से साझा कर सकें और अपनी कुंठा को निकाल सकें।
बुजुर्गो को वृद्धाश्रम भेजकर युवा भी सुखी नहीं रह पाते। जो उन्होंने अपने बड़ों के साथ किया , इससे ज्यादा उनके बच्चे उनके साथ वैसा ही व्यवहार करते हैं जैसा वो बचपन से देखते आए हैं, जनरेशन गैप बढ़ता ही चला जाता है।
कहने का तात्पर्य यह है कि थोड़ा थोड़ा तालमेल सभी को बैठाना होता है। बड़ों की इज्जत और छोटों को प्यार जहां यथायोग्य मिलता रहे तो जनरेशन गैप अपनी जगह नहीं बना सकता। बड़ों को अनजान, अनभिज्ञ और नासमझ न समझकर उन्हें आधुनिक गतिविधियों से अवगत कराया जाए धीरज के साथ परंपराओं का निर्वाह करने से आप उनके दिलों में राज कर सकते हैं, उसी प्रकार बड़े बुजुर्गो को युवा पीढ़ी को थोड़ी आजादी, न ए विचारों का सम्मान, और हर समय उन्हें गलत न ठहराना, चाहिए, सहजता से आधुनिक पीढ़ी के विचारों को अपनाकर , हल्की फुल्की समझाइश के साथ अपना स्थान और कद , ऊंचा उठाना चाहिए।
