गिरीश पंत: दुबई में हैं भारतीयों के लिए हनुमान
उत्तराखण्ड के एक प्रसिद्ध राजनेता ने कहा था कि पहाड का पानी और उसकी जवानी इस प्रदेश के काम नहीं आती है। पहाड से नदियां निकलती हैं और मैदानी इलाकों में आ जाती हैं। वैसे ही, पहाड के लोग युवावस्था में आते ही काम और नौकरी की तलाश में अपने राज्य को छोड देते हैं। असल में, यह पलायन का दर्द है। पलायन मानो उत्तराखण्ड और दूसरे पहाडी राज्यों के लिए अभिशाप है। इस अभिशाप का दंश लेकर जब कोई जोश से लबरेज इंसान बाहर निकलता है, तो वह अपने समाज और अपने देश के लिए बहुत कुछ करना चाहता है। कई लोग इसमें सफल होते हैं। ऐसे ही जीवट व्यक्ति हैं गिरीश पंत।
वही गिरीश पंत जो उत्तराखंड से चले और दिल्ली होते हुए दुबई पहुंचे। पहले अपने लिए स्थान बनाया और अब अलग-अलग देशों में फंसे भारतीय नागरिकों को वतन लौटाने का नेक काम कर रहे हैं। गिरीश पंत अब तक दुबई और दूसरे देशों में फंसे एक हजार से ज्यादा भारतीयों को अपने वतन लौटा चुके हैं। दुबई के लोग इन्हें बजरंगी भाईजान के नाम से भी बुलाते हैं। उनकी समाजसेवा के कारण ही भारत सरकार की ओर से उन्हें प्रवासी भारतीय सम्मान दिया गया। वर्ष 2019 में उत्तरप्रदेश के प्रयागराज इलाहाबाद में आयोजित प्रवासी भारतीय दिवस सम्मेलन के दौरान राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविद के हाथों उन्हें यह गौरव हासिल हुआ।
उत्तराखण्ड के पिथौरागढ़ में एक जगह है बेरीनाग, गिरीश पंत मूलरूप से यहीं के रहने वाले हैं। उनकी पढ़ाई दिल्ली में हुई है। एमबीए फाइनेंस की डिग्री हासिल करने के बाद वे साल 2008 में दुबई की कंपनी के लिए काम करने लगे। बीते एक दशक से दुबई में रहते हैं। आज समाजसेवा करने वालों में उनका नाम पूरे एहतराम से लिया जाता है। एमबीए फाइनेंस डिग्रीधारी व्यक्ति जब समाजसेवा की ओर आता है, तो आमतौर पर अचरज होता है। आखिर समाज सेवा क्यों ?
बकौल गिरीश पंत, साल 2013 में उत्तराखंड में आई आपदा ने उनको हिलाकर रख दिया था। अपने पहाड़ को आपदा का दंश झेलते देख गिरीश से रुका नहीं गया। उन्होंने 400 किलो राहत सामग्री और गढ़वाल-कुमाऊं के लिए काफी पैसे इकट्ठे किए और दुबई से पहाड़ की ओर चल पड़े। यहीं से गिरीश लोगों की नजर में आए और विदेश में फंसे लोग उनसे मदद मांगने लगे। एक बार गिरीश ने दुबई में फंसे उत्तराखंड के निर्मल रावत को भी रेस्क्यू कराया था। गुजरात के 26 लोगों को भी वो वतन वापसी में मदद कर चुके हैं। इसी सेवाभाव के लिए हैदराबाद माइग्रेशन रिसोर्स सेंटर ने 2015 में गिरीश पंत को प्रवासी मित्रता अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया।
एक सवाल के जवाब में गिरीश पंत बताते हैं कि सालों पहले जब उनके किसी रिश्तेदार की दुबई में मृत्यु हुई, तो उनके शव को हिंदुस्तान लाने में काफी दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ा था। किसी तरह शव को स्वदेश भेजने में सफलता मिली थी। उस दौरान उन्होंने दुबई के कानून की जानकारी हासिल की। बाद में इस जानकारी का इस्तेमाल विदेश में फंसे लोगों को वतन पहुंचाने के लिए करने लगे। अब तो इस कार्य में कोई विशेष दिक्कत नहीं होती है। दरअसल, गिरीश पंत दुबई में रहने के दौरान ऐसे भारतीयों की मदद करते हैं जो किसी कारणवश दुबई में फंस जाते हैं, कई लोग दुबई में नौकरी करने तो आ जाते हैं, लेकिन यहां के कानूनी प्रावधान के कारण आवश्यकता होने पर भी स्वदेश नहीं लौट पाते हैं। दुबई के भारतीय समुदाय में उनकी लोकप्रियता इतनी फैल चुकी है कि हर भारतीय के पास इनका संपर्क सूत्र है। अब तो वे कई बांग्लादेशी और नेपाली लोगों की भी मदद कर चुके हैं। कहा तो यह भी जाता है कि जब भी कोई भारतीय नेता दुबई जाते हैं, तो उनसे मिलने वालों में गिरीश पंत का नाम प्रमुखता सूची में स्थान लिए होता है।
वर्तमान में गिरीश पंत सत्य साईं आॅर्फन ट्स्ट, त्रिवेन्द्रम के यूएई अध्यक्ष हैं। द हिन्दी काउंसिल के सदस्य के रूप में अपना योगदान दे रहे हैं। इंडियन पीपुल्स फाॅरम यूएई के अध्यक्ष हैं। इसके साथ ही भारतीय दूतावासा के कई समिति के सदस्य के रूप में अपना योगदान दे रहे हैं।
गिरीश पंत जैसे लोग उत्तराखंड के लिए नहीं, पूरे देश के लिए गर्व हैं, ऐसे लोगों को द हिन्दी परिवार की ओर से सलाम।
