गुरु गोविन्द दोऊ खड़े काको लागूं पायं, बलिहारी गुरु आपने जिन गोविन्द दियो बताय, में कबीर ने गुरु को गोविन्द से भी ज्यादा महत्त्व दिया है. संस्कृत में एक श्लोक है जिसमे गुरु की महत्ता को वर्णित किया गया है.
“अज्ञान तिमिरांधश्च ज्ञानांजन शलाकया, चक्षुन्मीलितम तस्मै श्री गुरुवै नमः”
धर्म ग्रंथों में गुरू का स्थान ईश्वर से भी श्रेष्ठ माना जाता है. शास्त्रों में गु का अर्थ बताया गया है- अंधकार या मूल अज्ञान और रु का का अर्थ किया गया है- उसका निरोधक. गुरु को गुरु इसलिए कहा जाता है कि वह अज्ञान तिमिर का ज्ञानांजन-शलाका से निवारण कर देता है। अर्थात अंधकार को हटाकर प्रकाश की ओर ले जाने वाले को ‘गुरु’ कहा जाता है. गुरु तथा देवता में समानता के लिए एक श्लोक में कहा गया है कि जैसी भक्ति की आवश्यकता देवता के लिए है वैसी ही गुरु के लिए भी. बल्कि सद्गुरु की कृपा से ईश्वर का साक्षात्कार भी संभव है. गुरु की कृपा के अभाव में कुछ भी संभव नहीं है.
कहा ये जाता है कि अगर भगवान रूठ जाए तो गुरू की शरण में जाना चाहिए. लेकिन अगर गुरू रूठ जाए तो उसे भगवान भी नहीं मना सकते. इसलिए गुरु का स्थान सर्वश्रेष्ठ है. आषाढ़ माह की पूर्णिमा को गुरु पूर्णिमा कहा जाता है. इसे व्यास पूर्णिमा भी कहते हैं. हिंदू धर्म के पवित्र ग्रंथ महाभारत और 18 पुराणों की रचना करने वाले वेद व्यास की पूजा गुरु पूर्णिमा के की जाती है. वेद व्यास को आदि गुरु माना जाता है. ऐसा कहा जाता है कि वेद व्यास का जन्म गुरु पूर्णिमा के दिन हुआ था
गुरू पूर्णिमा के दिन हिंदू धर्म ग्रंथों के मुताबिक महाभारत के रचियता वेद व्यास का जन्म हुआ. उन्हें संस्कृत भाषा का महान विद्वान माना गया. वेदों को विभाजित करने का श्रेय वेद व्यास को ही दिया जाता है. इसी कारण इनका नाम वेद व्यास पड़ा. वैसे वेद व्यास को कृष्ण द्वैपायन व्यास कहा जाता था. वेद व्यास को आदि गुरु कहा जाता है इसलिए गुरु पूर्णिमा को व्यास पूर्णिमा कहा जाता है.
इस साल गुरु पूर्णिमा 16 जुलाई को मनाया जाएगा. यह दिन बेहद ही शुभ है इस दिन से सावन माह की भी शुरुआत हो रही है. हमारे धर्म में गुरु की जगह भगवान से भी ऊपर है, क्योंकि भगवान तक पहुंचने का रास्ता गुरु ही दिखलाता है. गुरु पूर्णिमा के दिन अपने गुरु का चरण स्पर्श करके आशीर्वाद जरूर लें.
प्रत्येक आषाढ़ महीने की पूर्णिमा को गुरु पूर्णिमा के रूप में मनाया जाता है. इस दिन दिन अपने गुरू की पूजा की जाती है. देशभर में गुरु पूर्णिमा का त्योहार पूरी श्रद्धा के साथ मनाया जाता है. प्राचीन समय में जब शिष्य आश्रम में जाकर गुरू के पास शिक्षा ग्रहण करते थे तो इसी दिन पूरी श्रद्धा से गुरू की पूजा भी करते थे. खास बात ये है कि गुरु पूर्णिमा के दिेन गुरु की नहीं बल्कि माता- पिता, भाई, बहन आदि को गुरु समान मानकर उनसे आशीर्वाद लिया जाता है.
