हिन्दी हमारी मातृभाषा है। मनुष्य की मातृभाषा उतनी ही महत्व रखती है, जितनी कि उसकी माता और मातृभूमि रखती है। एक माता जन्म देती है, दूसरी खेलने- कूदने , विचरण करने और सांसारिक जीवन निर्वाह के लिए स्थान देती है। तीसरी, मनोविचारों और मनोगत भावों को दूसरों पर प्रकट करने की शक्ति देकर मनुष्य जीवन को सुखमय बनाती है।
विश्व कवि रविन्द्र नाथ ठाकुर ने कहा है कि यदि विज्ञान को जन-सुलभ बनाना है, तो मातृभाषा के माध्यम से विज्ञान की शिक्षा दी जानी चाहिए। कई अध्ययनों से यह बात साबित हो गई है कि बालक को माता के गर्भ से ही मातृभाषा के संस्कार प्राप्त होते हैं। भारतीय वैज्ञानिक सी.वी.श्रीनाथ शास्त्री के अनुभव के अनुसार अंग्रेजी माध्यम से इंजीनियरिंग की शिक्षा प्राप्त करने वाले की तुलना में भारतीय भाषाओं के माध्यम से पढ़े छात्र, अधिक वैज्ञानिक अनुसंधान करते हैं। राष्ट्रीय मस्तिष्क अनुसंधान केंद्र की डॉ नन्दिनी सिंह के अध्ययन (अनुसंधान) के अनुसार, अंग्रेजी की पढ़ाई से मस्तिष्क का एक ही हिस्सा सक्रिय होता है, जबकि हिन्दी की पढ़ाई से मस्तिष्क के दोनों भाग सक्रिय होते हैं। सर आइजेक पिटमैन ने कहा है कि संसार में यदि कोई सर्वांग पूर्ण लिपि है, तो वह देवनागरी है। विदेशी भाषा के माध्यम से पढ़ाई, अनुसंधान, पुस्तकें आदि आधुनिकता के भी विरूद्ध है, क्योंकि आधुनिक-ज्ञान, समाज के सभी वर्गो तक अपनी भाषा में ही पहुंचाया जा सकता है।
हिन्दी बोलने मात्र से भारत का बोध होता है। विश्व के किसी भी कोने में कोई हिन्दी बोलते और सुनते नजर आएंगे, तो उनका सरोकार भारत से ही होगा। हम सब भारतीय हैं। वर्तमान में आप कहीं भी निवास कर रहे हैं। आइए, एक कदम अपनी हिन्दी के लिए आगे बढ़ाए, हिंदी में हस्ताक्षर करें। द हिन्दी ने हिंदी में हस्ताक्षर करने का आंदोलन चलाया है। हमारे आंदोलन को अपना आंदोलन बनाएं और द हिन्दी से जुड़ें।
