Chhath puja 2023:छठ महापर्व के दूसरे दिन यानी कि आज खरना का दिन है। इस दिन सुबह से लेकर शाम तक व्रती उपवास करती हैं और शाम को भोजन के रूप में प्रसाद ग्रहण करती हैं। इसे ही खरना कहा जाता है। शास्त्रों में खरना का मतलब शुद्धिकरण बताया गया है। इस दिन से ही छठ पूजा का प्रसाद बनाने की शुरूआत हो जाती है। खरना को कार्तिक मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की पंचमी तिथि को मनाने का विधान है। छठ से जुड़ी मान्यता है कि जो लोग छठ मैया का व्रत करते हैं और नियमपूर्वक विधि-विधान से पूजा-अर्चना करते हैं उनकी मनोकामनाएं पूरी होती है।
खरना को लोहंडा भी कहा जाता है। खरना वाले दिन से ही महिलाएं पूरे दिन निर्जल व्रत रखती हैं। इस दिन छठी मैय के लिए प्रसाद तैयार किया जाता है। प्रसाद बनाने में शुद्धता का विशेष ध्यान रखा जाता है। खरना की शाम को गुड़ से बनी खीर जिसे कुछ जगह रसिया भी कहते हैं, को बनाया जाता है। इस दिन की खास बात यह है कि छठी मैया का प्रसाद मिट्टी के चूल्हे पर पारंपरिक रूप से तैयार किया जाता है। प्रसाद बनने के पूजा अर्चना होती है और फिर प्रसाद को सबसे पहले व्रती को ग्रहण करने को दिया जाता है। उसके बाद ही इसे कोई और ग्रहण कर सकता है।
इस दिन भगवान सूर्य की पूजा-अर्चन के साथ लोकगीतों का भी अपना ही अलग महत्व है। लोकगीतों से समूचा परिवेश सराबोर रहता है। खरना में खीर या रसिया के साथ घी से चुपड़ी रोटी भी तैयार की जाती है। इसके बाद रात्री से ही छठ का मुख्य प्रसाद ठेकुआ भी तैयार किया जाता है। खरना वाले दिन से ही व्रती मानसिक तौर पर निर्जला उपवास के लिए तैयार होने लगती हैं। खरना की शाम को खीर का प्रसाद ग्रहण करने के बाद ही व्रती का लगभग 36 घंटे का निर्जला उपवास शुरू हो जाता है। जो कि अंतिम दिन उगते सूर्य को अर्घ्य देने के बाद पारण के रूप में समाप्त होता है।
नहाय खाय के बाद 18 नवंबर यानी कि आज खरना के साथ ही सूर्य की उपासना और निर्जला उपवास शुरू हो गया है। 19 नवंबर यानी कि रविवार की शाम को डूबते हुए सूर्य को तथा 20 नवंबर यानी कि सोमवार की सुबह उगते हुए सूर्य को अर्घ्य दिया जाएगा। उगते हुए सूर्य को अर्घ्य देने के बाद ही व्रती पारण कर सकती है। खरना में बनाए गए प्रसाद की विशेषता है कि इस दिन सारा का सारा सामान सिर्फ शुद्ध घी में ही बनाया जाता
