संवाद का मतलब पारिवाहिक कलह से नहीं है। कलह के समय संवाद न ही हो तो बेहतर। जिन परिवारों में सहज और शालीन संवाद रहता है, उस परिवार में सदा सौहार्दयपूर्ण वातावरण बना रहता है। परिजनो में किसी सदस्य का पूर्वाग्रही, स्वार्थवृत्ति, हीन भावना से ग्रसित होना, अवसाद पूर्वक जीवन जीना, शारीरिक मानसिक विकृति संवाद हीनता का कारण होती हैं।
संवादहीनता की उत्पत्ति सामान्यत अकारण अथवा सामान्य कारणों से ही होती हैं। कई बार संवाद हीनता गलत धारणाओं की जननी होती हैं। और यह गलत धारणाएं अच्छे खासे परिवार को बिखराव की और ले जाती हैं! घर में बुजुर्गों का न होना संवादहीनता का बड़ा कारण है। वर्तमान एकल परिवारों में सामान्यत तीन से चार सदस्य ही होते हैं, आपस में बात करें भी तो कितनी? ऊपर से तकनीक (टेक्नोलॉजी) से संवादहीना को ज्यादा बढ़ावा मिला है! मोबाइल की इसमें महती भूमिका है। एक कमरे में तीन लोग बैठे होंगे लेकिन उनके मध्य शायद ही संवाद होगा क्योंकि तीनों ने मोबाइल को ही संवाद का साधन समझ लिया है।
