Pashmina Shawl: भारतीय समाज में शॉल ओढ़ाना, पहनाना, भेंट करना हमेशा से आदर और सम्मान का प्रतीक रहा है। और तब जब आप किसी को कश्मीर की खास पश्मीना शॉल को भेंट स्वरूप देते हैं। जी हां पश्मीना शॉल सिर्फ फैशन का ही नहीं बल्कि स्टेटस सिंबल का प्रतीक रहा है। पश्मीना शॉल न सिर्फ भारत में मशहूर है, बल्कि विदेशों में भी इसके दीवाने हैं। अपनी गर्माहट, नरमी और खूबसूरती के लिए मशहूर पश्मीना शॉल कश्मीर की सभ्यता और संस्कृति का भी प्रतीक कहा जाता है। कुछ लोग तो इसे कश्मीरी शॉल के नाम से भी जानते हैं। आइए आपको पश्मीना शॉल की विशेषता के बारे में बतलाते हैं और कुछ रोचक जानकारियों को साझा करते हैं।
कहते हैं पश्मीना शब्द फारसी के “पश्म” शब्दसे बना है, जिसका मतलब होता है चरणबद्ध तरीके से ऊन की बुनाई। कहते हैं पश्मीना ऊन, कश्मीर की एक खास प्रजाति की पहाड़ी बकरी से निकाली जाती है। जिसे च्यांगरा या च्यांगरी कहते हैं। कुछ जगह स्थानीय लोग इसे चेगू भी कहते हैं। यह बकरियां हिमालय के पहाड़ों में 1200 फीट की ऊंचाई और -40 डिग्री से कम तापमान में रहती हैं। चेगू कश्मीर के साथ साथ लद्दाख, तिब्बत के पहाड़ी इलाकों में पाई जाती हैं। कश्मीर में इन बकरियों को पालने वाले खानाबदोश लोग को चांगपा जनजाति का माना जाता है।
चेगू बकरियां सर्दियों के दौरान अपने शरीर से ऊन की ऊपरी परत खुद से त्याग देती हैं। इसलिए इन्हें अलग से काटना नहीं पड़ता है। एक बकरी लगभग एक बार में 80 से 160 ग्राम ऊन देती है। कहते हैं एक पश्मीना शॉल बनाने में कम से कम 3 भेड़ों की ऊन लगती है। पश्मीना शॉल को बनाना काफी मेहनत का काम है। शायद इसीलिए पश्मीना शॉल काफी महंगी होती है। इतिहास की बात करें तो कश्मीर के शासक “जैनुल आब्दीन” ने अपने सूबे में ऊन से जुड़े उधोगों को काफी बढ़ावा दिया था। हालांकि कुछ लोग पश्मीना शॉल का इतिहास 15 वीं सदी से भी पूराना बताते हैं। खास बात है कि मुगल शासन के दौरान इस शॉल की लोकप्रियता काफी बढ़ी और कश्मीर के अलावा भारत के दूसरे हिस्सों और दुनिया के दूसरे कोनों में भी खूब नाम कमाया।
इतिहासकार बताते हैं कि मुगल बादशाह बाबर के समय में अपने वफादारों को “खिलत” यानी कि वस्त्र देने की परंपरा थी जिसमें पगड़ी, गाउन नुमा कुछ कपड़े और साथ में कश्मीरी पश्मीना ऊन से बना सामान। मुगलों की इस परंपरा को आगे बढ़ाते हुए अकबर ने जब कश्मीर पर अपना परचम लहराया तो खास तौर पर “खिलत” के समारोह में कश्मीरी पश्मीना शॉल तोहफे में देना शुरू किया। कहते हैं चेंगू नस्ल की बकरी से लगभग हर साल 100 ग्राम और चंगतांगी नस्ल की बकरी से 250 ग्राम पश्मीना ऊन मिलती है। इसके साथ ही इसे बनाने के लिए याक के बालों का भी इस्तेमाल किया जाता है। एक शॉल को बनाने में लगभग 250 घंटो का वक्त लग जाता है।
इसके मशहूर होने की वजह शायद यह भी है कि इसकी कीमत अन्य शॉलों के मुकाबले काफी ज्यादा होती है। बताया जाता है कि एक पश्मीना शॉल की कीमत पंद्रह सौ रूपए से लेकर डेढ़ लाख रूपए तक होती है। शॉल के कारोबारियों के मुताबिक पश्मीना शॉल की कीमत इस बात से भी तय होती है कि वे किस जानवर के बालों से यानी कि ऊन से बनाई गई है। कोई भी शॉल अगर याक के बालों से बनी हुई होती है तो उसकी कीमत काफी ज्यादा होती है बाजारों में।
सोशल मीडिया के इस दौर में पश्मीना शॉल को लेकर बहुत सारे दावे किए जाते हैं। आप शॉल खरीदते हुए लोगों से पूछेंगे कि कश्मीरी पश्मीना शॉल की क्या खासियत है तो वह बोलेंगे कि इसे किसी अंगूठी के बीच में डाल कर बाहर निकाल सकते हैं। हालांकि ऐसा कुछ है नहीं। चूंकि इसकी बुनाई इतनी महीन होती है कि समय के साथ ऐसी कहानियां बनती चलीं गई होंगी। वैसे तो कश्मीरी पश्मीना शॉल की पहचान का एकमात्र तरीका है जीआई टैग, यानी कि ज्योग्राफिकल टैग। हालांकि इस से जुड़े कारोबारियों का कहना है सिर्फ हाथ से बुने शॉलों पर ही जीआईटैग होते हैं, मशीन से बुने पर नहीं।
