नई दिल्ली। वैसे तो हिंदुओं में मान्यता है कि वास्तुशास्त्र के देवता के रूप में स्वयं भगवान विश्वकर्मा स्थापित हैं। हम जब भी कोई घर, दुकान या कोई अन्य प्रतिष्ठान बनाते हैं तो वास्तु का विशेष ध्यान रखा जाता है। वास्तु में दिशा, प्रकाश, वायु, कोण आदि का विशेष ध्यान रखा जाता है। नींव से पहले हम विश्वकर्मा का आह्वाहन करते हैं, पूजा करते हैं। लेकिन क्या आपको पता है कि भारत के दक्षिणी हिस्से में वास्तु के देवता के रूप में भगवान विश्वकर्मा की पूजा नहीं होती है । दक्षिण भारत में वास्तु के देवता के रूप में मायन की पूजा होती है।
कौन है मायन:-
मायन को दक्षिण भारत में वास्तु की नींव रखने वाला माना जाता है। मायन कोई और नहीं मयासुर है। कश्यप और दनु का पुत्र मयासुर एक ज्योतिष तथा वासुतु का विद्वान आचार्य था। मयासुर ने ही दैत्यराज वृषपर्वन् के यज्ञ के समय बिंदुसरोवर के पास एक अतिदुर्लभ सभागृह का निर्माण कर अपने शिल्पज्ञान का लोहा मनवाया था।
क्या था मंदोदरी और मयासुर का रिश्ता–
दक्षिण भारत के वासतु के भगवान और प्रख्यात शिल्पकार मयासुर और उसकी पत्नी हेमा की दो पुत्रियां थी। जिसमें एक थी दम्यमालिनी और दूसरी थी प्रकाण्ड असुर विद्वान रावण की पत्नी मंदोदरी। रामायण में वर्णित दो राक्षस मायावीं और दुदुंभि भी मयासुर के ही पुत्र थे।
वास्तुशास्त्र में कितनी हैं दिशाएं-
वास्तुशास्त्र में चार मूल दिशा पूरब, पश्चिम, उत्तर तथा दक्षिण को माना जाता है। साथ ही साथ इसमें चार विदिशाएं तथा दो अन्य दिशाओं अर्थात आकाश और पाताल को भी शामिल किया जाता है ।ईशान, आग्नेय, नैऋत्य एवं वायव्य चारों विदिशाओं के नाम हैं। इन दशों दिशाओं में पूरब का स्थान काफी अहम माना गया है क्योंकि इसी दिशा में सूर्य देवता का उदय होता है, जो कि पृथ्वी पर जीवन का आधार है। पूरब और दक्षिण के मध्य में आग्नेय दिशा की स्थिति मानी जाती है जिसके स्वामी अग्नी देव को माना गया है। नैऋत्य, दक्षिण पश्चिम के मध्य में स्थित होता है जिसका स्वामी राक्षस है। ईशान उत्तर और पूरब के मध्य स्थित होता तो वायव्य पश्चिम और उत्तर के मध्य स्थित होता है।
