luxurious buildings of Lutyens’ Delhi : बात तब की है जब भारत में अंग्रेजी हुकूमत के समय में इसकी राजधानी को कलकत्ता से दिल्ली लाने की बात हुई। साल 1911 में नई दिल्ली को बसाने और संवारने का काम शुरू हुआ। जिसकी जिम्मेदारी नामचीन आर्किटेक्ट सर लुटियन के कंधों पर आई। सर लुटियन ने सेंट्रल दिल्ली के आस-पास बड़ी कोठियों और भवनों को डिजाइन किया। इन कोठियों को उस समय के राजा-रजवाड़ों को रहने के लिए बनवाया जा रहा था। आइए जानते हैं तब के बने उन कोठियों और भवनों के बारे में, जो आज भी लुटियन दिल्ली में सीना ताने खड़ी हैं।
हैदराबाद हाउस
लुटियन दिल्ली की सबसे ज्यादा पसंदीदा भवनों में से एक है यह भवन। नई दिल्ली के अकबर रोड पर स्थित हैदराबाद हाउस को बनाने के लिए तब के निजाम ने लगभग 20 हजार पाउंड खर्च किए थे। इसकी भव्यता आज भी देखने लायक है। देश-विदेश के विश्व-विख्यात राजनीतिक हस्तियां के स्वागत का गवाह रहा है यह भवन। यहां पर आम लोगों का प्रवेश निषेध है। कहा जाता है कि तब के हैदराबाद के निजाम में अपने सभी बेगमों के लिए हैदराबाद हाउस में कमरे भी बनवाए थे। निजाम इस वक्त के दुनिया के सबसे अमीर राजाओं में शुमार थे। इस भवन को पूरी तरह से आर्कटेक्ट एडविन लुटियन की देखरेख में बनाया गया था।
पटियाला हाउस
पटियाला हाउस को उस समय के पंजाब के पटियाला के महाराड भूपिंदर सिंह के लिए बनवाया गया था। वैसे तो इस भवन को भी लुटियन ने ही डिजाइन किया था, लेकिन महाराज भूपिंदर सिंह को इसे सादगी के साथ चाहिए था। इसलिए पटियाला हाउस पर कम पैसे खर्च किए गए। पटियाला हाउस की संरचना तितली की आकृति जैसी है। जब 1970 में आजाद भारत में राजशाही को खत्म किया गया थो तो इसे सरकार के नाम कर दिया गया। तब से लेकर आज तक इसमें जिला अदालत चलाई जाती है, जिसे हम लोग पटियाला हाउस कोर्ट के नाम से जानते हैं।
बड़ौदा हाउस
बड़ौदा हाउस को भी लुटियन की देखरेख में ही बनाया गया था। इतिहास के पन्ने बताते हैं कि बड़ौदा के महाराज गायकवाड़ की ताजपोशी ब्रिटिश सरकार ने 12 साल की उम्र में की थी। राजा जी अंग्रेजों के काफी नजदीक थे। इसलिए इस भवन के चारों कोनों में अंग्रेजी वास्तुशिल्प का असर आपको साफ दिख जाएगा। आज कल इस हाउस में रेलवे का दफ्तर चलता है। इसे रेल भवन भी कहते हैं।
बीकानेर हाउस
बीकानेर हाउस को तब के राजा गंगा सिंह के लिए बनवाया जा रहा था। आपको जानकर हैरानी होगी कि इस भवन का नक्शा लुटियन ने नहीं बल्कि आर्थर ब्लूम फील्ड ने बनाया था। आजादी की लड़ाई के समय इस भवन में कई सारी अहम बैठकें हुई थी। महात्मा गांधी भी गोल मेज सम्मेलन में जाने से पहले यहां पर बैठक में शरीक हुए थे।
जयपुर हाउस
जयपुर हाउस में सजावट के लिए हाथी के चित्रों का खूब इस्तेमाल किया गया है। इसे राजा सवाई मानसिंह के लिए बनवाया गया था। आज के समय में जयपुर हाउस में राष्ट्रीय आधुनिक कला संग्रहालय है। इस भवन में डेढ़ हजार से ज्यादा आधुनिक कलाकृतियों को रखा गया है। जयपुर हाउस को भी आर्किटेक्ट आर्थर ब्लूम फील्ड ने ही डिजाइन किया था।
