NAPDDR: नशीली दवाओं की मांग के खतरे को रोकने के लिए, भारत सरकार का सामाजिक न्याय एवं अधिकारिता मंत्रालय, नशीली दवाओं की मांग में कमी के लिए राष्ट्रीय कार्य योजना (एनएपीडीडीआर) लागू कर है । यह एक व्यापक स्तर की योजना है। इसके तहत राज्य सरकारों तथा केंद्रशासित प्रदेशों को वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान की जाती है। यह सहायता निवारक शिक्षा और जागरूकता सृजन, क्षमता निर्माण, कौशल विकास, पेशेवर प्रशिक्षण के लिए दी जाती ही। इसके तहत नशे के आदि लोगों की आजीविका के लिए काम किया जा रहा है। नशीली दावाओं की मांग में कमी के लिए इस तरह के कार्यक्रम का संचालन किया जाता रहा है। इस कार्यक्रम के संचालन में गैर सरकारी संगठनों की मदद ली जा रही है। इस तरह की सहायता ड्रॉप इन सेंटर और जिला नशा मुक्ति केंन्द्र पर प्रदान की जाती है।
इसके अलावा मंत्रालय ने उच्च शिक्षा संस्थानों, विश्वविद्यालय परिसरों, स्कूलों पर विशेष ध्यान देने के साथ युवाओं के बीच मादक द्रव्यों के सेवन के दुष्प्रभावों के बारे में जागरूकता पैदा करनी की कोशिश की है। और लक्षित समुदाय तक पहुंचने और अभियान में सामुदायिक भागीदारी और स्वामित्व हासिल करने के उद्देश्य से वर्तमान में देश के सभी जिलों में महत्वाकांक्षी नशा मुक्त भारत अभियान (एनएमबीए) शुरू किया है।
