प्राचीन ऋषि-मुनियों की रोगोपचार हेतु पुरातन चिकित्सा पद्धति: अग्निहोत्र – रक्षा पंड्या
प्राचीनकाल में भारत ‘आर्यावर्त’ नाम से जाना जाता था। और इस आर्यावर्त का अर्थ होता था- ‘सभ्य, सुसंस्कृत लोगों का देश, हमारे ऋषि-मुनियों का देश!’
ये वो देश था जहाँ विदेशों से लोग आध्यात्मवाद सीखने आते थे, जहाँ केवल ऋषि-मुनि व तपस्वी ही नहीं बल्कि प्रत्येक गृहस्थ हर दिन यज्ञ किया करते थे, जिससे उनके विचार सात्विक बनते थे तथा यज्ञ करने से वातावरण हमेशा शुद्ध और सुगंधित रहता था।
भारतीय संस्कृति में अग्नि को बहुत ही पवित्र माना गया है, इस अग्नि से जुड़ा एक मुख्य संस्कार है- ‘हवन’ जिसे ‘अग्निहोत्र’ भी कहते हैं। जिसका मतलब होता है- ‘किसी देवता के नाम पर अग्नि में घी व सुगंधित द्रव्य डालना।’ अग्निहोत्र के विस्तृत रूप को ही ‘यज्ञ’ कहते हैं।
अग्निहोत्र का वर्णन ‘यजुर्वेद’ में मिलता है। अग्निहोत्र से तात्पर्य एक ऐसे होम (आहुति) से है जिसे प्रतिदिन किया जाता है तथा जिसकी अग्नि को बुझने नहीं दिया जाता है। इस यज्ञ से उत्पन्न अग्नि मनुष्य को 10 फीट तक सुरक्षा कवच प्रदान करती है।
शांतिकुंज हरिद्वार द्वारा भारत एवं विदेशों में सम्पन्न किए गए 27 अश्वमेध यज्ञों के संबंध में वैज्ञानिकों ने निष्कर्ष निकाला कि, ‘यज्ञ कैंसर जैसी जानलेवा, कष्टप्रद बीमारियों को भी रोकने में समर्थ हो सकते हैं।’
प्रतिदिन प्रातः व सायं अग्निहोत्र करने का विधान वेदों में भी है। वेद के इन मन्त्रों को ‘महर्षि दयानन्द’ ने अपनी पंचमहायज्ञ विधि में प्रस्तुत किया है। यहीं से यज्ञ व अग्निहोत्र परम्परा प्रारंभ हुई।
अग्निहोत्र कैसे करे-
“प्रतिदिन 3 छोटे चम्मच हवन सामग्री लेकर चुटकीभर बिना टूटे चावल और एक चम्मच घी मिलाकर अष्टाक्षर मंत्र –
“ॐ घृणिः सूर्य आदित्य ॐ स्वाहा” की 13 आहुतियां देनी चाहिए। इससे संक्रामक रोगों से रक्षा होती हैं। हवन प्रातःकाल के समय ही करना चाहिए, रात्रि में हवन नहीं करना चाहिए। हवन के समीप जल का भरा हुआ एक पात्र रखना कभी न भूलना चाहिए। यदि बड़ा हवन हो तो हवन कुंड के चारों ओर पानी के भरे पात्र रख देने चाहिए। कारण यह हैं कि, हवन में जहाँ उपयोगी वायु निकलती हैं वहाँ कार्बनडाइऑक्साइड जैसी हानिकारक गैस भी निकलती हैं। पानी उस हानिकारक गैस को खींचकर अपने में चूस लेता हैं। इस पानी को सूर्य के सम्मुख अर्घ्य के रूप में फैला देने का विधान हैं, इस जल को पीना नहीं चाहिए।”
चरक ने भी लिखा है कि ‘‘आरोग्य प्राप्त करने की इच्छा वालों को विधिवत् हवन करना चाहिए। बुद्धि शुद्ध करने की यज्ञ में अपूर्व शक्ति है। जिनका मस्तिष्क दुर्बल है या बुद्धि मलिन है, वे यदि यज्ञ करें तो उनकी मानसिक दुर्बलताएँ शीघ्र ही ठीक हो सकती है।”
हमारे प्राचीन ऋषि-मुनि और तपस्वियों ने यज्ञविधि को काफी महत्व दिया, उन्होंने यज्ञ को ही सभी प्रकार की विपदाओं से रक्षा का व अनेक प्रकार के रोगों से उपचार का एकमात्र उपाय माना। अतः हमारा कर्तव्य है कि हम भी ऐसे उपाय करें कि जिससे हमसे जितनी मात्रा में प्रदूषण हुआ है, उतना व उससे कुछ अधिक मात्रा में उसका निवारण भी हो। यज्ञ-पर्यावरण संतुलन का सर्वोपरि आधार है। यदि भारतीय संस्कृति ने अग्निहोत्र को अपनाया है, तो किसी अन्धविश्वास के कारण नहीं, बल्कि वैज्ञानिक आधार पर ही अपनाया है।
