चाहे हो कोई भी धार्मिक अनुष्ठान या फिर पूजा-पाठ, सनातन संस्कृति में किसी भी मांगलिक कार्यों में हाथ की कलाई पर लाल घागा यानी कि मौली या कलावा बांधने की परंपरा है। लेकिन क्या आपने कभी सोचा है कि आखिर हम सभी शुभ कार्यों के अवसर पर कलावा क्यों बांधते हैं? चलिए आज आपको विस्तार से बताते हैं इस बारे में।
कलावा है, वैदिक परंपरा का हिस्सा
सनातन संस्कृति में वैसे तो पूजा-पाठ के दौरान कई परंपराओं को निभाया जाता है, जिनमें से एक है कलाई पर रक्षासूत्र या कलावा को बांधना। इसके पीछे धार्मिक मान्यता यह है कि इसे बांधने से तीनों देव (त्रिदेव)- ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और महेश और तीनों महादेवियां- महाल्क्ष्मी, माता सरस्वती तथा मां काली का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त होता है। पूजा के समय कलावा को बांधने से मनुष्य को बल, बुद्धि और विधा की प्राप्ति होती है।
इसके पीछे एक किंवदंती यह है कि, असुरों के दानवीर राजा बलिक की अमरता के लिए भगवान विष्णु के अवतार स्वरूप वामन अवतार ने उनकी कलाई पर रक्षा-सूत्र बांधा था। हालांकि इसे रक्षाबंधन का प्रतीक भी माना जाता है। कहते हैं, देवी लक्ष्मी ने अपने पति की रक्षा के लिए राजा बिल के हाथों में इस बंधन को बांधा था।
वैसे तो रक्षासूत्र अर्थात मौली का शाब्दिक अर्थ ‘’सबसे ऊपर’’ होता है, जिसका तात्पर्य है ‘सिर पर विराजमान’। इसका वैदिक नाम उप मणिबंध भी है। चूंकि भगवान शिव के शीश पर चंद्रमा विराजमान हैं, इसलिए उन्हें चंद्रमौली भी कहा जाता है।
कैसी होती है मौली और कहां-कहां बांधते है?
वैसे तो मौली कच्चे धागे से बनाई जाती है। इसमें मूल रूप से तीन रंग के धागे होते हैं- लाल, पीला और हरा। हालांकि कभी-कभी इसे 5 धागों की एक साथ जोड़ कर भी बनाते हैं, जिसमें नीला और सफेद धागा भी शामिल होता है। तीन और पांच के अंक का भी अपना अलग महत्व है, तीन में त्रिदेव और पांच में पंचदेव।
मौली को हाथ, गले और कमर पर बांधने की परंपरा है। किसी देवी-देवता से मन्नत मांगने पर इसे स्थान विशेष के चारों ओर बांधा जाता है और मन्नत पूरी होने पर इसे खोल दिया जाता है। घर में लाई गई नई वस्तु पर भी इसे बांधने की परंपरा है। कभी-कभी आप इसे पशु आदि पर भी बंधे देखा होगा।
रक्षा-सूत्र बांधने के हैं कई नियम
शास्त्रों की माने तो पुरूषों और अविवाहित लड़कियों को रक्षासूत्र दाएं हाथ में बांधने को बताया गया है। वहीं विवाहित स्त्रियों को इसे बाएं हाथ में बांधने को कहा जाता है। साथ ही यह भी बताया गया है कि इसे बांधते समय हाथ की मुट्ठी को बांध कर रखना चाहिए। ऐसा करने से न सिर्फ मन शांत रहता है बल्कि आत्म बल में भी वृद्धि होती है।
रक्षासूत्र का वैज्ञानिक महत्व क्या कहता है
रक्षासूत्र बांधने के पीछे केवल धार्मिक मान्यता ही नहीं है बल्कि इसे बांधने के पीछे वैज्ञानिक आधार भी हैं। आयुर्वेद की पुस्तकों में बताया गया है कि कलाई से होकर शरीर के कई प्रमुख अंगों तक नसें पहुंचती है। ऐसे में कलाई पर मौली को बांधने से शरीर के वित्त, पित्त और कफ को संतुलित करने में सहायता मिलती है। यह हृद्य रोग, रक्तचाप में भी सहायक होता है।
