यह सबसे बड़ा सत्य है कि सफलता का कोई शॉर्टकट नहीं होता है. जिसने पूरी लगन से लक्ष्य को तय करके मेहनत किया, सफलता उनके कदम चूमती है. बॉलीवुड की दुनिया में अपने दम पर एक के बाद एक कई सफलताएं हासिल करने का नाम है – सतीश कौशिक. जिन्हें आप अभिनेता कहें, निर्देशक कहें या निर्माता कहें. बॉलीवुड और टीवी की दुनिया के हर फॉर्मेट में उन्होंने स्वयं को साबित किया था. उनकी सबसे यादगार फिल्म मिस्टर इंडिया थी, जिसमें उन्होंने ‘कैलेंडर’ का किरदार निभाया था, जिसके बाद लोग उन्हें कैलेंडर नाम से भी संबोधित करने लगे थे. उन्हें उनके बेहतरीन कामों के लिए कई सारे पुरस्कार और सम्मान भी दिया गया था.
फिल्म निर्देशक-अभिनेता सतीश कौशिक का बॉलिवुड में एक अलग ही रुतबा था. वह न केवल फिल्मों का बेहतरीन निर्देशन करते थे, बल्कि वह अपनी भाव प्रधान अभिनय के लिए भी जाने जाते थे. वर्ष 1983 से उन्होंने फिल्मों के निर्देशन में कदम रखा और अब तक दर्जनों फिल्मों का निर्देशन कर चुके थे. उन्होंने साल 1983 में फिल्म मौसम से अपने करियर की शुरुआत की थी. इसके बाद उन्होंने फिल्म मिस्टर इंडिया के कैलेंडर से लेकर उड़ता पंजाब के ताया जी तक अपने अलग-अलग किरदारों से अपनी एक्टिंग का लोहा तक मनवाया.
फिल्म समीक्षक भी इस सच को स्वीकारते हैं कि सतीश कौशिक की फिल्में दर्शकों के दिलों तक पहुंचती थी, फिर चाहे वह उसमें ऐक्टिंग कर रहे हों या फिर बतौर निर्देशक उसका हिस्सा हों. ऐसी ही एक फिल्म आई थी तेरे नाम. सतीश कौशिक के निर्देशन में बनीं इस फिल्म को 16 साल हो चुके हैं लेकिन दर्शकों के दिलों में आज भी इसकी खास जगह है. फिल्म की कहानी से लेकर गाने तक आज भी सुने जाते हैं.
आपको बता दें कि सतीश कौशिक का जन्म 13 अप्रैल 1956 को हरियाणा के महेन्द्रगढ़ में हुआ था. उन्होंने अपनी शुरुआती पढ़ाई दिल्ली करोलबाग से की है. दिल्ली यूनिवर्सिटी के किरोड़ीमल कॉलेज से स्नातक की पढ़ाई पूरी की है. उसके बाद उन्होंने नेशनल स्कूल ऑफ ड्रामा में दाखिला ले लिया. साल 1978 में वहां से पासआउट होने के बाद उन्होंने फिल्म एंड टेलीविजन इंस्टीयूट ऑफ इंडिया से पढ़ाई की.
सतीश कौशिक ने अपने करियर की शुरुआत बतौर सहायक निर्देशक शेखर कपूर के साथ फिल्म मासूम से की. इस फिल्म में सहायक निर्देशक होने के साथ-साथ उन्होंने इस फिल्म में अभिनय भी किया. उन्होंने बतौर निर्देशक अपने करियर की शुरुआत अनिल कपूर और श्री देवी स्टार फिल्म रूप की रानी चोरों का राजा से की, लेकिन फिल्म कुछ खास नहीं चली. उसके बाद उन्होंने प्रेम फिल्म निर्देशित की, जो फिल्म अभिनेत्री तब्बू की पहली फिल्म थी.
इसके बाद उन्होंने अनिल कपूर और ऐश्वर्या को लेकर अपने समय की सुपरहिट फिल्म हम आपके दिल में रहते हैं, निर्देशित की. सिर्फ निर्देशन में ही नहीं, बल्कि सतीश कौशिक अभिनय करने में काफी मंझे हुए हैं. उन्होंने कई सारी फिल्मों में सहायक कलाकार की भूमिका अदा की थी.
अनिल कपूर, माधुरी दीक्षित और जैकी श्रॉफ मल्टीस्टारर फिल्म राम लखन में सतीश कौशिक ने अनुपम खेर की दुकान पर काम करने वाले नौकर का रोल किया था. फिल्म में उनके कॉमेडी भरे अंदाज ने काफी सुर्खियां बटोरी थीं. यह फिल्म साल 1989 में आई थी. साजन चले सुसराल में सतीश कौशिक का मुत्तु स्वामी का रोल काफी यादगार रहा. इस फिल्म में सतीश कौशिक के अलावा करिश्मा कपूर, गोविंदा और तब्बू मुख्य भूमिका में थे. यह फिल्म साल 1996 में रिलीज हुई थी.
ब्रिटिश निर्देशक साराह गैवरॉन निर्देशित फिल्म ‘ब्रिक लेन’ काफी अच्छी फिल्म थी. फिल्म में सतीश कौशिक अदाकारा तनिष्ठा चटर्जी के साथ अहम भूमिका निभाते नजर आए. फिल्म एक बांग्लादेशी लड़की की जिंदगी में आने वाली परेशानियों को दर्शाती है. सतीश कौशिक ने इस फिल्म में चानू अहमद का किरदार निभाया, जिसके लिए उन्होंने बाकायदा वर्कशॉप्स की और अंग्रेजी की क्लासेज भी लीं. इसके बाद, याद आता है – दीवाना मस्ताना. गोविंदा, अनिल कपूर और जूही चावला की इस फिल्म में सतीश कौशिक का किरदार पप्पू पेजर कल्ट किरदार बन चुका है. दो हीरो के कंपटीशन में पप्पू पेजर अपना खेल दिखाता है. सतीश कौशिक ने इस किरदार के लिए बिल्कुल अलग बोली ईजाद की और अपने इसी स्टाइल से वह फिल्म के मुख्य किरदारों पर भी कहीं कहीं भारी पड़े. इस फिल्म के पूरे पांच साल बाद सतीश कौशिक ने फिल्म हम किसी से कम नहीं में इसी किरदार को फिर से आगे बढ़ाया.
सतीश कौशिक के अचानक निधन से मनोरंजन जगत को तगड़ा झटका लगा है।
