Google, the digital giant is supported by strong pillars of the most innovative minds in the world. Most of us already know of Sunder Pichai, the brilliant CEO of Google who is an Indian and is a product of our finest educational institute, IIT. But India’s contribution to the multinational powerhouse doesn’t end there. Did you know that among the top officials, six are of Indian origin? Their contributions have lead to Google retaining its top position the world.

Sundar Pichai
The trailblazing CEO of Google, arguably one of the most influential company in the world is Sundar Pichai, an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur. Since 2015 he has lead the company to new heights and developed consumer products such as iGoogle, Google Toolbar, Desktop Search,etc. He was previously the Senior Vice President of Products at Google Inc (Alphabet Inc) and has been part of Google since 2004. His previous contributions were to McKinsey and Company and Jive Software,Inc. He was pitched as the contender for CEO of Microsoft, which eventually went to another Indian Gem, Satya Nadella.
Amitabh Jacob
Mr. Amitabh Jacob is currently the Head of Partnerships and Alliances for India at Google LLC. Jacob brings with him years of industry experience. He has worked for Amazon Web Services, Microsoft and was previously the Head of Partnerships and Alliances at Amazon. His expertise of India is an essential strategy for Google. He’s been working in the field for the last 20 years and is responsible for Google Cloud’s strategy across the Indian region through partnerships with various stakeholders. He is in charge of deepening the reach of Google’s cloud based products and solutions.
Prabhakar Raghavan
Dr. Prabhakar Raghavan is a brilliant researcher and has been the Head of Digital-ads Business at Google LLC since October 05, 2018. Dr. Raghavan has extensive experience not just limited to his field but also its intersection with other areas. He is with his responsibilities at Google, simultaneously the editor-in-chief of the Journal of the ACM, a Consulting Professor of Computer Science at Stanford and he has also authored of textbooks related to Algorithms and hundreds of research papers. His previous work experience includes his tenure as head departments of companies like IBM, Verity and Yahoo!Labs. He is also an IITian (Madras).
Aditya Swamy
Mr. Aditya Swamy is serving as the Head of Agency Partnerships at Alphabet Inc. (Google Inc) since July 2018. Mr. Swamy joined as an industry expert with experiences Flipkart as Senior Director, Executive Vice President at MTV Networks and in Viacoom18 Media. His key role in expanding the channel’s base in all the different social and web platforms were instrumental in its growth. He also worked in Coca Cola as a General Manager of Marketing and is credited with launching its hot beverage, ‘Georgia Coffee’. He is an alumni from SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai.
Nitin Bawankule
Google Inc’s Country Head of Cloud Business in India is Mr. Nitin Bawankule. He has been a part of the company for the last 6 years in various positions. India is a key market for Google and his expertise in handling e-commerce, retail and classifieds is a huge boon to its Cloud Company which is starting to pick up rapidly in the country.
Kavitark Ram Shriram
A lesser known key contributor to Google, Inc, Mr. Kavitark Ram Shriram is one of the reasons why Google exists. He is one of the first investors of Google so we can thank him for having the foresight to invest in a company which has revolutionized our lives. He is currently a board member of Google. He has been the founder of several successful start-ups like Sherpalo. He also has served in Amazon.com prior to which he was CEO of Junglee Corp, which Amazon acquired. He is an experienced insider of many different companies and has contributed immensely to all of them. He is an alumnus of University of Madras.
These six inspiring Indians shine with their brilliance and guide us in following their lead. Their major contributions don’t just illuminate our country but the entire world. With great pride we can say that Indians occupy leading positions of top corporations in the world.
