बच्चों में बढ़ रही ओबेसिटी की समस्या, कोविड-19 के बाद से बच्चों में खेल कूद हुआ कम
सुनने में आ रहा है की बहुत से बच्चे कोविड के बाद से ओवेरवेइट की समस्या से गुज़र रहे हैं। सायन अस्पताल के पीडियाट्रिक विभाग के डोक्टर्स बता रहे है कि ओबेसिटी ओपीडी में ओवरवेट बच्चों की संख्या डबल होती जा रही है। इस ओवरवेइट (ओबेसिटी ) की समस्या को देखकर डॉक्टर डाइट प्लानिंग और फैमिली काउंसलिंग के सहारे लोगो की मदद भी कर रहे है। कहा जाता है कि सायन अस्पताल और मेडिकल कॉलेज ही एक मात्र ऐसा बीएमसी अस्पताल है, जहां बच्चों में ओबेसिटी के लिए विशेष ओपीडी चलाई जाती है।
सायन अस्पताल की असिस्टेंट प्रो. डॉ. निकिता शाह का कहना है कि पिछले एक दशक में डाइट के पैटर्न में काफी बदलाव देखा जा सकता है। लोग प्रोसेस्ड और जंक फूड का सेवन अधिक करने लगे हैं। जहाँ पहले ओबेसिटी की समस्या आर्थिक रूप से सक्षम लोगों में देखने को मिलती थी, वहीं अब कम आय वाले भी अपने बच्चों को वो चीजें खिला रहे हैं, जो ओबेसिटी के कारक हैं। मोबाइल के उपयोग के करना बच्चे बहार खेल खूद करना छोड़ चुके है जिसके कारण से ओवरवेट और ओबेसिटी की समस्याएँ बढ़ती जा रही है।
आज से कुछ सालों पहले वर्ष 2017 में बाल रोग विभाग प्रमुख डॉ. राधा घिल्डियाल और डॉ. अल्का जाधव ने ओबेसिटी के लिए अलग ओपीडी की शुरुआत की थी। जानकारी के अनुसार सायन के दोनों अस्पतालों में सालाना 20 बच्चे ओवरवेट और मोटापे के आते हैं जिनमें से कम से कम 10 फीसदी लोग मोटापे का शिकार होते हैं। कोविड के पहले यह संख्या आधी थी। अब ओबेसिटी के केस अधिक हैं, लेकिन जागरूकता की कमी के कारण लोग अस्पताल जाते नहीं हैं।
अभी भी बच्चों में मोटापे को लेकर लोगो के बीच जागरुकता कम है जिसपर डॉ. शाह कहती है कि अस्पताल में ज़्यादातर एकदम गरीब या लोअर इनकम वाले लोग ही आते है। करीब 90 फीसदी अभिभावकों को पता ही नहीं होता है कि मोटापा क्या है और उससे क्या परेशानी हो सकती है। उन्हें लगता है कि उनका बच्चा तंदुरुस्त है। आपको बता दे कि हाल ही में प्रसिद्ध पत्रिका लांसेट में प्रकाशित अध्ययन के अनुसार भारत में 2022 में वर्ष 5 से 19 वर्ष के 1.25 करोड़ बच्चे मोटापे से जूझ रहे हैं जिसमें 73 लड़के और 52 लाख लकड़ियों का समावेश है।
डॉ. शाह यह भी बताती है कि ओवरवेट और मोटापे से ग्रसित बच्चों और उनके अभिभावकों की काउंसलिंग सायन अस्पताल की जाती है। अब यह पेरेंटिंग पर निर्भर करता है कि रिजल्ट कैसे होंगे। साथ ही परिवार को भी अपने डाइट पैटर्न को बदलना होगा। बच्चों को एका बिस्किट, जंक फूड छोड़ने के लिए कहेंगे, तो वो और जिद करेंगे। इसलिए हम बच्चों के अलावा पेरेंट्स का भी समुपदेशन करते हैं। यह लंबी प्रक्रिया है, लेकिन फॉलो किया जाए, तो रिजल्ट अवश्य ही मिलेगा।
