भैरव के रौद्र रूप के साथ, सौम्य रूप भी है…लेकिन कौन
भगवान शिव के अवतार भैरव किसी रहस्य से कम नहीं हैं। भैरव सबसे बड़े लोक देवता के रूप में जाने जाते हैं। देश में पुराने समय में शायद ही कोई नगर हो या गांव जहां के स्थानीय देवता के रूप में भैरव की पूजा ना होती हो। माना जाता है कि भैरव इन नगरों अथवा गांवों की मुसीबतों से रक्षा करते हैं।
शैव धर्म में भैरव शिव के विनाश रूप के उग्र अवतार के रूप में जाने जाते हैं। भैरव की उपासना सिर्फ हिन्दू धर्म में ही बल्कि बौद्ध और जैन धर्म में भी की जाती है। भैरव की पूजा भारत, श्रीलंका के साथ-साथ तिब्बती बौद्ध और जैन धर्म में भी की जाती है। आमतौर पर हिन्दू धर्म में भैरव को दंडपाणि (हाथ में दण्ड धारण किए) और स्वस्वा (जिनका वाहन कुत्ता हो) भी कहा जाता है।
भैरव एक दयालु और शीघ्र प्रसन्न होने वाले देवता हैं। भैरव को सात्विक भोग के साथ साथ मदिरा आदि भी चढ़ाने की प्रथा रही है। तंत्र के देवता के रूप में भैरव की आराधना की प्रधानता है। भैरव उग्र कापालिक सम्प्रदाय के देवता हैं। रंग रूप में भयंकर स्वरूप लिए भैरव गहरे काले रंग के प्रतीक हैं। भैरव की सवारी काले कुत्ते के रूप में शास्त्रों में बताया गया है।
कैसे हुई थी भैरव की उत्पत्ति-
शिव पुराण के अनुसार अंधकासुर नाम का एक राक्षस अनीति की राह पर चल चारों ओर कोहराम मचा रहा था। और उसका दुस्साहस इतना बढ़ गया था कि वह भगवान शिव पर ही आक्रमण करने की कोशिश किया। तब शिव के रूधिर से उत्पत्ति हुई भैरव की और उन्होंने अंधकासुर के पाप से जग को मुक्त किया।
भैरव के उत्पत्ति को लेकर एक व्याख्या यह भी है कि एक बार सृष्टिकर्ता ब्रह्मा ने भगवान शंकर और उनके गणों की वेशभूषा को लेकर कुछ कटु वचन कहे थे। जिसके बाद भगवान शिव के शरीर से उसी समय एक विशालकाय दण्डधारी स्वरूप का जन्म हुआ और वे ब्रह्मा के शीश को काटने के लिए आगे बढ़े। जिसके बाद ब्रह्मा भय से कांपने लगे । और जब शिव ने भैरव को ऐसा ना करने का आदेश दिया तब जाकर वह स्वरूप रूका। शिव के इसी स्वरूप को भैरव कहा गया है। माता पार्वती ने भी अपने अंश से देवी भैरवी को प्रकट किया जो शिव अवतार भैरव की पत्नी बनीं।
भारत के शास्त्रों में भैरव के दो रूपों की उपासन होती है। बटुक भैरव तथा काल भैरव। काल भैरव जहां क्रोध,दण्ड और आपराधिक प्रवृत्तियों पर नियंत्रण के देवता के रूप में जाने जाते हैं तो वहीं उनके दूसरे रूप बटुक भैरव बड़े ही सौम्य स्वभाव के हैं। अपने भक्तों को अभय वरदान देने वाले बटुक भैरव बाल रूप के प्रतीक हैं। पुराणों में भैरव के 8 स्वरूपों के बारे में बताया गया है। इन 8 स्वरूपों में असितांग भैरव,रूद्र भैरव,चंद्र भैरव,क्रोध भैरव,उन्मत्त भैरव,कपाली भैरव,भाषण भैरव और संहार भैरव हैं।
भारत में कहां कहां है भैरव उपासना के प्रसिद्ध मंदिर-
भारत में काशी का काल भैरव मंदिर काफी प्रसिद्ध है। माना जाता है कि काल भैरव इस नगर के नगरपाल हैं। काशी नगर की व्याख्या भारतीय प्राचीनतम नगरों में की जाती है तो शायद आधुनिक समय में एक मात्र नगर है जिनके बारे में पुरणों में भी बताया गया है। बताया जाता है कि औरंगजेब जब भारत के मंदिरों को तोड़ रहा था तो काशी के इस मंदिर को तोड़ने के प्रयास के दौरान कहीं से कुत्तों का एक झुंड आ गया और सैनिकों को काटने लगा । कुत्ते जिन सैनिकों को काट रहे थे वे पागल हो जा रहे थे। बादशाह ने डर से अपने ही सैनिकों को मरवाना शुरू कर दिया।
दिल्ली के विनय मार्ग पर बटुक भैरवका मंदिर । माना जाता है कि इस मंदिर का संबंध पांडव कालीन समय से है। जयपुर जिले के चाकूस कस्बे में भी प्रसिद्ध बटुक भैरव का मंदिर लगभग 8 वीं शताब्दी का है। इस मंदिर के बारे में कहा जाता है कि बारिश के मौसम में जब तक यहां के निवासी भगवान बटुक की पूजा अर्चना नहीं करते तबतक बारिश नहीं होती।
शिप्रा नदी के तट पर स्थित महाकाल की नगरी उज्जैन की । काल भैरव को इस शहर के संरक्षक देवता के रूप में जाना जाता है। काल भैरव के इस मंदिर में चढ़ावे के रूप में शराब पेश की जाती है। वाम मार्गी इस मंदिर में यह एक विधान की तरह लागू होता है। माना जाता है कि इस मंदिर के पुराने आधार का निर्माण भद्रसेन नाम के किसी अज्ञात राजा ने करवाया था।
