CAA यानी कि सिटीजनशिप अमेंडमेंट एक्ट लागू हो चुका है| इसको लेकर पूरे देश में हंगामा हो रहा है| केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने सोमवार को इसे लागू कर दिया था| यानी कि सोमवार से पूरे देश में CAA कानून लग चुका है | यह एक नागरिकता संशोधन अधिनियम है| इसके तहत उन लोगों को भारतीय नागरिकता मिलेगी जो, 31 दिसंबर 2014 से पहले भारत आकर बसे थे| यह कानून केवल उन लोगों के लिए भी है जिन्हें वर्षों से उत्पीड़न सहना पड़ा था| साथ ही जिनके पास दुनिया में भारत के अलावा और कोई जगह नहीं है। CAA में भारत में वैध यात्रा दस्तावेज (पासपोर्ट और वीजा) के बगैर घुसे लोगों को अवैध प्रवासी बताया गया है।
CAA से क्या बदलाव होगा
CAA से उन लोगों को भारतीय नागरिकता मिलेगी जो 2014 से पहले तीन पड़ोसी देश पाकिस्तान, बांग्लादेश और अफगानिस्तान से आए थे| इनमें सिख, पारसी, हिंदू, बौद्ध, जैन और ईसाई भी शामिल है| नागरिकता संशोधन विधेयक 2019 में लोकसभा से पास हो चुका था, लेकिन 2019 लोकसभा चुनाव के कारण राज्यसभा में पास नहीं हो पाया था। अब यह लोकसभा और राज्य सभा दोनों से पास हो चुका है|

CAA के तहत भारत के पड़ोसी देशों से आने वाले अल्पसंखयक समुदायों को आसानी से नागरिकता मिल जाएंगी | जिसमें सिख, पारसी, हिंदू, बौद्ध, जैन और ईसाई लोगों को भारत की नागरिकता मिलेगी| ऐसा नहीं है कि दुनिया में किसी भी देश से आए लोगों को नागरिकता मिलेगी| सिर्फ भारत के पड़ोसी देशों पाकिस्तान, बांग्लादेश और अफगानिस्तान से आए लोगों को CAA से लाभ होगा| आपको बता दें कि CAA को लेकर एक भ्रम भी फैल रहा था कि इसके लागू होने के बाद भारत के मुस्लिमों कि नागरिकता छीन जाएगी पर ऐसा कुछ नहीं होगा| गृहमंत्री अमित शाह का कहना है कि अफगानिस्तान, पाकिस्तान और बांग्लादेश मुस्लिम देश हैं। वहां धर्म के नाम पर बहुसंख्यक मुस्लिमों का उत्पीड़न नहीं होता है, जबकि इन देशों में हिंदुओं के साथ अन्य समुदाय के लोगों को धर्म के आधार पर प्रताड़ित किया जाता है। इसलिए इन देशों के मुस्लिमों को नागरिकता कानून में शामिल नहीं किया गया है। हांलाकि, इसके बाद भी वह नागरिकता के लिए आवेदन कर सकते हैं, जिस पर सरकार विचार करके फैसला लेगी|
