भारतीय भाषाओं में क्या है समानता ?

भारत सांस्कृतिक विविधता के साथ ही साथ भाषाई विविधता वाला देश है। कोस-कोस पर बदले पानी चार कोस पर बदले वाणी की कहावत इसी परिपेक्ष्य में प्रचलित रही है। अनेक बदलावों के बाद भी आज भारत की सांस्कृतिक और भाषाई विविधता अपने मूल स्वरूप में कायम दिखती है। जब हम भाषाई विविधता की बात करते हैं तो हमारे सामने भारत में बोली जाने वाली प्रादेशिक भाषाओं की बात ही नहीं आती बल्कि सैकड़ों की तादाद में बोली जाने वाली बोलियां भी इसमें सम्मिलित होती हैं। भारतीय संस्कृति और समाज के विकास में किसी के योगदान को नकारा नहीं जा सकता है। हमारे लिए जितनी महत्वपूर्ण हिन्दी है उतनी ही तमिल, तेलुगु, कन्नड़, पंजाबी, डोगरी, बोडो, मलयालम, बंगला, असमिया, मराठी और कश्मीरी है। यदि हिन्दी राजभाषा और राष्ट्रभाषा-रूपी गंगा की धारा है तो अन्य प्रदेशिक भाषाएं भी कावेरी, सतलज और ब्रह्मपुत्र की धाराएं हैं।
आज भाषा-संस्कृति की महत्ता बाजारवाद के आगे दबती नजर आ रही है। लेकिन इस बात को नहीं नकारा जा सकता कि भारतीय भाषाओं के अंतर्संबंध तथा भारतीय संस्कृति की विराटता आज कहीं पहले से अधिक महत्व का हो गये हैं। अपनी पहचान के लिए हमें हर हाल में, इस संबंध को समझना और जीना होगा। बिना इसके भारतीयता का कोई अर्थ नहीं रह जाता है। इन्हीं से हमारी पहचान है।
विश्व आज जिस दौर से गुजर रहा है, उसमें कई स्तरों पर बदलाव आए हैं। भूमंडलीकरण के कारण लोगों के सांस्कृतिक, भाषाई और देशज सोच में बदलाव आए हैं। भारतीय समाज में इस बदलाव का असर कहीं अधिक देखा जा रहा है। जिससे लोगों में मूल्यों से अधिक सुख-सुविधाओं के प्रति कहीं ज्यादा मोह बढ़ा है। पैसा जीवन का पर्याय बन गया है। सांस्कृतिक और भाषाई चेतना धीरे-धीरे बदलती या गायब होती दिखाई पड़ रही है।
अंगे्रजी का खतरा केवल हिन्दी के लिए ही नहीं अपितु भारतीय भाषाओं पर ही उसी तरह से है। गांधी कहते हैं-‘‘आप और हम चाहते हैं कि करोड़ों भारतीय आपस में अंतप्रान्तीय संपर्क कामय करें। स्पष्ट है कि अंगे्रजी के द्वारा दस पीढ़िया गुजर जाने के बाद भी हम परस्पर संपर्क स्थापित न कर सकेंगे।’’ स्पष्ट है सात दशक व्यतीत हो जाने के बाद भी गांधी द्वारा महसूस किया गया भाषाई संकट आज भी उससे कहीं अधिक गहरा हो गया है।
हिन्दी किसी न प्रान्त की भाषा रही है और न तो किसी जाति, वर्ग या क्षेत्र विशेष की भाषा रही है। हिन्दी बहती नदी की धारा की तरह सब के लिए उपयोगी और कल्याणकारी रही है। यही कारण है गैर हिन्दी भाषा भाषी क्षेत्रों के हिन्दी उन्नायकों ने हिन्दी को जन भाषा के रूप में स्वीकार करते हुए इसके उत्थान के लिए अपना सर्वस्व न्योछावर कर दिया। वह चाहे गुजराती भाषा भाषी महर्षि दयानंद और गांधी रहे हों, बंगाल के राजाराम मोहन राय, केशवच्रद सेन और रवींद्र नाथ टैगोर तथा नेता सुभाष रहे हों, या महाराष्ट्र के नामदेव, गोखले और रानाडे रहे हों। इसी तरह तमिलनाडु के सुब्रह्मण्यम भारती, पंजाब के लाला लाजपत राय, आंध्र प्रदेश के प्रो. जी. सुंदर रेड्डी जैसे अनेक अहिन्दी भाषा भाषी क्षेत्रों में हिन्दी को बढ़ावा देने के लिए अनेक महत्वपूर्ण कार्य किए।
हिन्दी का स्वभाव और भारतीय भाषाओं का स्वभाव एक जैसा है। किसी भी स्तर पर टकराव नहीं है। फिर क्यों हिन्दी का विरोध गैरहिन्दी भाषा-भाषी क्षेत्रों में यत्र-तत्र देखा जाता है? यह प्रश्न अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। दरअसल, आजादी के पहले अंगे्रजों ने भारतीय भाषाओं का वर्गीकरण कराया था, उसके पीछे न कोई भाषाई तथ्य, व्याकरण और लिपि का आधार था और न ही सांस्कृतिक या धार्मिक ही। भारतीय भाषाओं का वर्गीकरण इस तरह से किया गया कि जिससे यह साबित हो सके कि आर्य भाषा परिवार’ की भाषाओं और ‘द्रविड़ भाषा परिवार’ की भाषाओं में न पूरकता है और न ही कोई अंतर्संबंध ही है। जिससे उन्हें भाषा के नाम पर भी देश को विभाजित कर राज्य करने में सुविधा हो सके। गौरतलब है ‘आर्य भाषा परिवार’ का नामकरण मैक्समूलर के द्वारा किया गया और द्रविड़ भाषा परिवार’ का नामकरण पादरी राबर्ट काल्डवेल के द्वारा किया गया।
आधुनिक भारतीय भाशाविज्ञानिकों की दृष्टि आज भी वैसी ही है जैसी स्वतंत्रता के पूर्व थी। आज भी भाषा वैज्ञानिक यह मानते हैं कि भारत की आर्य भाषाओं का ईरानी, यूनानी, जर्मन और लातीनी भाषाओं से किसी न किसी स्तर पर अंतर्संबंध हैं लेकिन विध्यांचल के दक्षिण में प्रचलित भाषाओं से आर्य भाषाओं का कोई संबंध नहीं जुड़ता है। हम सभी इस बात पर विचार करने के लिए ही तैयार नहीं हैं कि दक्षिण की भाषाएं द्रविड़ परिवार की हैं और उत्तर भारत की भाषाएं आर्य परिवार की । इस धारणा को दृढ़ता प्रदान करने में पादरी काॅल्डवेल की पुस्तक ‘ द्रविड़ भाषाओं का तुलनात्मक अध्ययन’ का योगदान सबसे अधिक रहा है। स्पष्ट है जब भी इस विषय पर चर्चा होती है तो भारत के भाषा वैज्ञानिक उक्त पुस्तक का हवाला देकर यह साबित करने की कोशिश करते हैं कि फादर काल्डवेल का शोध इस सम्बंध में भाषाई अंतर्सम्बंधों को समझने में मील का पत्थर है। वहीं पर इस धारणा को अपने शोधपरक और तथ्यपरक तर्कों से निर्मूल साबित करते हुए कैलिफोर्निया विश्वविद्यालय के पूर्व प्रोफेसर एम.बी. एमनो ने अपने तथ्यपरक निबंध ‘ भारत एक भाषाई क्षेत्र’ में कहा है-‘‘एक ही भूखंड की भाषा होने के कारण उत्तर और दक्षिण भारतीय भाषाओं की वाक्य रचना में, प्रकृति और प्रत्यय में, शब्द और धातु में, भाव-धारा और चिंतन प्रणाली में और कथन-शैली में प्रत्येक स्तर पर समानता दिखाई पड़ती है।’’
