नए घर में नए सपने, नया परिवार, नए तौर तरीके, नई उम्मीद के साथ नई उड़ान पर निकली उस नारी को सब सही होने का अनुभव होता है. समय बीतता है और हर चेहरे का नकाब भी समय के साथ उतरता जाता है. जिसे लक्ष्मी कहते मुंह नहीं दुखता था, उसे लक्ष्मी यानी धन के लिए प्रताड़ित किया जाता है.
दहेज के लालच में लोग इंसानियत तक भूल जाते हैं. शारीरिक और मानसिक प्रताड़ना मौत तक पहुंच जाती है. सभ्य समाज के लिए यह एक कलंक है, जो अभी तक रूक नहीं रहा है. इंडियन नेशनल क्राइम ब्यूरो के मुताबिक, 2011 में 8311 मामले दर्ज हुए हैं और हर एक साल इसमें वृद्धि हो रही है.
आपको लग रहा होगा कि सवा सौ करोड़ से अधिक आबादी वाले देश में ये आकडे़ कम हैं. बता दें की कुछ मुकदमे तो ऐसे होते हैं, जो रजिस्टर तक नहीं करवाए जाते. दहेज उत्पीड़न अगर कोई करता है, तो उसके लिए सख्त कानून बनाए गए हैं. धारा 498ए और 198ए जैसे कानून अस्तित्व में हैं. इस कानून के मुताबिक अगर कोई लड़की अपने पति और ससुरालवालों के खिलाफ दहेज का मुकदमा दर्ज करवाती है, तो उसके पति और ससुरालवालों को जेल हो सकती है . लेकिन अगर दहेज के लिए मार दी गई लड़की का मामला है, तो धारा 304बी कानून लागू होगा. इस कानून के हिसाब से हत्यारा को कम से कम 7 साल की सजा होगी।
ऐसा नहीं है की हर घर में दहेज को लेकर ऐसा है. बहुत सारे घर ऐसे हैं, जहाँ नारी को इज्जत और सम्मान देते हैं. अगर हर घर में ऐसा होता, तो सायना नेहवाल, सुनीता विलियम्स, पी वी सिन्धु, स्मृति ईरानी, ऐश्वर्या राय, दीपिका पादुकोण उदाहरण के रूप में हमारे सामने नहीं होतीं। इनके अलावा और भी तमाम नारियां हैं, जो देश में नाम कमा रही हैं.
जब भी नवरात्र आता है, तो कन्याओं को माँ दुर्गा का रूप समझ कर भोजन करवाया जाता है, जब भी लक्ष्मी की बात होती है, तब घर की बेटियों का नाम आता है, लेकिन अगर देश को आगे बढ़ाना है तो नारी को बेहतर मान-सम्मान देना होगा. समय की मांग है कि ‘बेटी बचाओ, बेटी पढाओ’ के साथ साथ यह भी सिखाना चाहिए कि अगर कोई तुम पर अत्याचार करे, तो खुद के लिए खड़े होना सीखो.
