नीम, बबूल, अमरुद, आम, मकरा, धाक, मादक, गुलर, बेल ये कुछ ऐसे पेड़ हैं, जिनके दातुन बनाए जाते हैं. कहते हैं कि दातुन का उपयोग कर ही रहे हैं, तो ऐसे दातुन का इस्तेमाल करें, जो थोड़ी कड़वी हो. दातुन के इस्तेमाल से हमारे मसूढ़े मजबूत होते हैं. कफ खत्म होता है. दातों का दर्द और बदबू दूर भागता है. और तो और, दांत हमेशा मोतियांे जैसे चमकते रहते हैं.
क्या कहता है आयुर्वेद ?
आयुर्वेद कहता है, ‘दातुन सिर्फ हमारे दांतों को ही साफ नहीं रखते, बल्कि हमारे मस्तिस्क की स्मरण क्षमता बढ़ा देती है. आयुर्वेद में वर्णित दंतधावन विधि में अर्क, न्यग्रोध, खदिर, करज्ज, नीम, बबूल आदि पेड़ों की डंडी की दातुन करने के लिए कहा गया है. यह सभी दातुन कटु-तिक्त रस की होती हैं। आयुर्वेद में मुख प्रदेश को कफ का आधिक्य स्थान कहा गया है. सुबह का काल भी कफ प्रधान होता है एवं पूरी रात सोने के कारण मुख के अंदर कफ जमा हो जाता है. इसलिए शास्त्र में कफ दोष का नाश करने वाले कटु, तिक्त एवं कसैला प्रधान रस वाली दातुन का प्रयोग करने के लिए कहा है.
आयुर्वेद में किस दातुन की क्या है विशेषता:
1. बबूल- इसका दातुन मसूढ़े और दांतों को मजबूत बनता है.
2. नीम- नीम के दातुन से आपके पाचन शक्ति और चहरे की निखार बढ़ता है. यह पायरिया जैसी बीमारी में लाभदायक है.
3. बेर- इसके दातुन को इस्तेमाल करने से आवाज साफ और मधुर हो जाती है.
आयुर्वेद के अलवा भी कई जगह दातुन के बारे बताया गया हैं. जैसे मिस्वाक के दातुन का जिक्र कई इस्लामिक विद्वानों ने किया है. मिस्वाक के दातुन एन्टी-बैक्टीरियल और एन्टी एडिक्शन होते है. आपके दाँतों को प्लेग जैसी बीमारी से दूर रखता है. ये दाँतों की परत इनेमल को मजबूत बनाता है. साथ ही बदबूदार सांस को खत्म करता है. इसमें कई पोषक तत्व भी मौजूद होते हैं, जैसे – फ्लौरिने, सिलिकॉन, विटामिन सी, सल्वादोरिने और ट्राइमिथाइल.
