देवकी नंदन खत्री : भारतीय साइंस फिक्शन के जनक
आजकल विदेशों में जिस तरह की साइंस फिक्शन फिल्मे बन रही है, क्या आप जानते हैं कि भारत में आज से तक़रीबन 150 साल पहले देवकीनंदन खत्री ने चंद्रकांता संतति जैसी उपन्यांस लिखकर इसकी शुरुआत कर दी थी. स्पाइडरमैन, जुमान्ज़ी, अवेंजेर्स और हैरी पॉटर में जिस तरह से समय परिवर्तन कर फिल्मों के पात्र हैरतअंगेज़ कारनामे करता है, इसी प्रकार देवकीनंदन खत्री के उपन्यास चंद्रकांता संतति के किरदार समय परिवर्तन कर अनेक करतब दिखाते है.
देवकीनंदन खत्री ने ‘तिलिस्म’, ‘ऐय्यार’ और ‘ऐय्यारी’ जैसे शब्दों को हिंदीभाषियों के बीच लोकप्रिय बनाया, और कहा जाता है कि जितने हिन्दी पाठक उन्होंने बनाये उतने किसी और साहित्यकार ने नहीं बनाया. इसीलिए उनको भारतीय साइंस फिक्शन के जनक कहा जाता है. देवकीनंदन जी की चमत्कारिक और रोचक कहानियां लोगो को उस समय मंत्रमुग्ध कर देती थी, जब दूर दूर तक आज की तरह साइंस फिक्शन का नामोंनिशान नही था. अपनी इन्ही तिलिस्मी कहानियों के कारनामें को चमत्कार का रूप देकर चंद्रकांता जैसी लोकप्रिय उपन्यास की रचना की, जिसे आज भी लोग पढ़ कर किसी और दुनियां की सैर करने लगते हैं.
कहा जाता है कि देवकी नंदन जी के इस चमत्कारिक दुनियां की लोकप्रियता का स्वाद चखने के लिए लोगों नें हिंदी भाषा सीखी जिनकी बोली उर्दूं या कोई और थी. इस महान उपन्यासकार का जन्म 1861 में हुआ था, ये वो समय था जब विज्ञान के चमत्कार भारत में दूर –दूर तक न तो दिखाई देते थे और ना ही किसी नें सुना ही था. ऐसे समय में इन्होंने विज्ञान के जादू का ऐसा संसार अपने उपन्यासों में रचा जिसके आगे पश्चिम के सारे सुपर हीरो और उनकी चमत्कारिक दुनियां सभी फीकी पड़ गई. यह कहना गलत नहीं होगा की वैश्विक स्तर पर भारत की पहचान एक ऐसे राष्ट्र की हैं जहाँ कदम–कदम पर कोई ना कोई चमत्कार देखने को मिलता हैं. वैसे बहुत हद तक यह बात सही भी हैं, क्योंकि चमत्कारों से जुड़ी जितनी कहानियां विश्व के सभी देशों से मिलाकर आती हैं, उतनी या उससे आधिक अकेले भारत की भूमि पर घटित हो जाती हैं. आज का युवा वर्ग जो वर्तमान साइंस फिक्शन के नाम पे सुपरमैन, स्पाइडरमैन, एवेंजर आदि फ़िल्में देख रहा हैं, उसे ये जानने की कोशिश करनी चाहिए कि इस सब में जो आज दिखाया जा रहा उसे हमारे देश के उत्तम लेखकों ने एक सदी पहलें ही, राजा रानियों की हैरतअंगेज कहानियों द्वारा, परियों को जादुई दुनियां की सैर करा कर दिखा दिया था.
आज भी जादू की दुनियां और विज्ञान की खूबियाँ इन दोनों के मेल से एक बहुत ही समृद्ध सुपर फिक्शन हमारे यहाँ मौजूद हैं.जिसे आज लोग भूलते जा रहे हैं. जरुरत है तो सिर्फ इतनी की लोग अपने देश के साहित्य, सिनेमा की खूबियों को भूले ना, और इसे पाश्चात्य सभ्यताओं से कम न समझे.
