GURUKUL IN INDIAN CIVILIZATION: शिक्षा मनुष्य का विकास और जीवन के प्रति नजरिये का मिला-जुला रूप है। मनुष्य जब से सभ्य हुआ होगा तो उसने इस सभ्यता को अगली पीढ़ी तक पहुंचाने के लिए किसी न किसी माध्यम का सहारा जरूर लिया होगा। इसी माध्यम का विकसित रूप है आज का विधालय। लेकिन यह संस्था आज अचानक तो नहीं आई होगी। समय के साथ ही इसका भी विकास हुआ होगा।
प्राचीन भारत में ऐसे विधालयों को गुरूकुल के नाम से जाना जाता था, जहां विधार्थी अपने परिवार से दूर, गुरु के सान्निध्य में, वहां रह कर शिक्षा प्राप्त करते थे। पुराने समय में गुरूकुल ही अध्ययन- अध्यापन के प्रधान केंद्र हुआ करता था। इन गुरूकुलों को, उनमें पढ़ाने वाले गुरु के ज्ञान के आधार पर ख्याति प्राप्त थी। समय के साथ, गुरु विशेष से शिक्षा प्राप्त करने के लिए, छात्र बहुत दूर देशों से गुरुकुल आया करते थे।
भारतवर्ष के गुरूकुल में शिक्षक को आचार्य तथा प्रधान शिक्षक को “प्रधान आचार्य”, “कुलपति” या “महोपाध्याय” कह कर बुलाते थे। हमारे पौराणिक ग्रंथों में बताया भी गया है कि स्वयं राम और कृष्ण को शिक्षा प्राप्त करने के लिए गुरुकुल जाना पड़ा था। गुरूकुलों की अगली पीढ़ी के ही विकसित रूप थे, तक्षशिला, नालंदा, विक्रमशिला और वल्लभी के विश्वविधालय। जहां देश से ही नहीं बल्कि दूर देशों से भी छात्र पढ़ने आते थे। इस बारे में हमें चीनी यात्री ह्वेनसांग के यात्राविवरण आदि से जानने को मिल जाता है।
भारत में ब्रितानिया शासन और गुरूकुल परंपरा
भारत की इस विश्वविख्यात गुरूकुल परंपरा का वहन हजारों सालों से चला आ रहा था, लेकिन अंग्रेजों के, भारतीय आत्मा को बदलने की मंशा ने भारत के पुरातन शिक्षा पद्धति पर कुठाराघात किया और अपनी पाश्चात्य शिक्षा व्यवस्था को यहां के कोमल युवा मन पर थोपने की तैयारी करने लगा। समय, ताकत और गुलामी ने हमारे हजारों वर्षों की इस शिक्षा व्यवस्था को हमसे ना सिर्फ दूर किया बल्कि हमारे प्राचीन ज्ञान ग्रंथों को भी हमारी पीढ़ी से दूर कर दिया।
समय के बदलाव और आधुनिक बाजार ने कई दशकों तक हमें हमारे प्राचीन ज्ञान और शिक्षण व्यवस्था से दूर रखा। लेकिन कहते हैं ना कि समय का पहिया घूमता है और एक बार फिर वहीं आता है जहां पहले था। शायद यही कुछ हुआ है आज के इंटरनेट की दुनिया में। इसमें कोई अतिश्योक्ति नहीं कि आज हम फिर से इंटरनेट की दुनिया की मदद से अपने खोये शास्त्रों के ज्ञान से, फिर से अवगत हो रहे हैं, बल्कि अपने ऐतिहासिक ज्ञान के पुनर्जीवन के लिए संघर्ष भी कर रहे हैं। इसलिए तो एक बार फिर से हमारे देश में गुरूकुल परंपरा ने अपना सफर शुरू किया है। आज देश में कई ऐसे गुरुकुल चल रहे हैं जहां सिर्फ देश से ही नहीं बल्कि विदेशों से भी बच्चे पढ़ने आ रहे हैं। उसी पुरानी गुरूकुल परंपरा में आधुनिक और प्राचीन दोनों पद्धतियों पर आधारित शिक्षा दी जाती है यहां।
