नीरज: जिनके बोल लोगों की जुबान पर चढ़ गए

यूं तो बॉलीवुड में कई गीतकार हुए हैं. एक से बढ़कर एक गीत लिखे हैं. लेकिन गोपाल प्रसाद नीरज उस भीड़ में अकेले ऐसे गीतकार हुए, जिनके बोल लोगों की जुबान पर चढ़ गए. हर शहर, हर नगर. हर गांव, हर कस्बा में आपको लोग मिल जाएंगे, जो जरा सी भीड़ हुई नहीं कि कहते सुनाई देंगे – ऐ भाई, जरा देख के चलो, आगे भी नहीं पीछे भी.
1971 में आयी राजकपूर की फिल्म “मेरा नाम जोकर” का ये गाना भला किसने नहीं सुना होगा. नीरज के लिखे “ऐ भाई जरा देख के चलो, आगे ही नहीं पीछे भी” को मन्ना डे ने अपनी दिलकश आवाज में गाया था. राजकपूर पर फिल्माए इस गाने का म्यूजिक शंकर जयकिशन ने तैयार किया था.
असल में, यही तो नीरज की खासियत रही है. नीरज जिंदगी, प्रेम और विरह की सच्चाइयों को बयान करने वाले रचनाकार के तौर पर विख्यात हैं. उन्होंने कुछ वक्त तक फिल्मों के लिए भी गीत लिखे. ये गीत आज भी चाव से सुने जाते हैं. हर उम्र के लोग नीरज के इन गीतों के प्रशंसक हैं. उत्तर प्रदेश के इटावा में जन्मे गोपालदास नीरज ने कई सालों तक फ़िल्मी गीत लिखे. लेकिन बाद में मायानगरी को अलविदा कह अलीगढ़ वापस चले आए.
1969 में आई हिंदी फिल्म “चंदा और बिजली” का गाना “काल का पहिया घूमे भैया” काफी लोकप्रिय हुआ था. इसे नीरज ने ही लिखा था. शंकर जयकिशन के म्यूजिक पर इसे मन्ना डे ने गाया था. इसे संजीव कुमार पर फिल्माया गया था. 1968 में शशिकपूर की फिल्म “कन्यादान” का ये गाना “लिखे जो खत तुझे” को हिंदी फिल्मों के क्लासिक गाने में शुमार किया जाता है. शंकर जयकिशन के म्यूजिक पर इसे मोहम्मद रफ़ी ने गाया था. रोमांटिक गाना शशि कपूर पर फिल्माया गया था.
1971 में एक फिल्म आई थी शर्मीली. इसका एक गाना “आज मदहोश हुआ जाये रे मेरा मन..मेरा मन” बहुत लोकप्रिय हुआ था. नीरज के लिखे गीत पर एसडी बर्मन ने म्यूजिक दिया था. गाना राखी और शशि कपूर पर फिल्माया गया था जिसे किशोर कुमार और लता मंगेशकर ने गाया था. 1971 में “गैंबलर” फिल्म का गाना आज भी अपनी बोल की वजह से सुना जाता है. किशोर कुमार की आवाज में “दिल आज शायर है गम आज नगमा है” का म्यूजिक एसडी बर्मन ने तैयार किया था. नीरज का लिखा ये गाना सदाबहार अभिनेता देवानंद के ऊपर फिल्माया गया था.
गोपालदास सक्सेना का जन्म 4 जनवरी 1925 को उत्तर प्रदेश के इटावा जिले के पुरावली गांव में हुआ था. छह बरस की उम्र में ही उन्होंकने अपने पिता को खो दिया था. फिर उन्होंशने पढ़ाई छोड़ दी और उसके बाद पेट पालने के लिए कई नौकरियां भी कीं. वापस उन्होंोने पढ़ाई की ओर रुख किया और पोस्ट ग्रेजुएशन की डिग्री हासिल की. उनका कलम नाम नीरज था और लोग उन्हें इसी नाम से जानते थे. नीरज की लेखन शैली बेहद सरल लेकिन उच्चि स्तीर की थी. उन्हों ने साहित्य सृजन के अलावा ढेरों कविताएं लिखीं. उनकी कविताओं का इस्ते माल गानों के रूप में कई हिन्दीम फिल्मों में किया गया.
नीरज ने कई हिन्दी फिल्मोंं के लिए गाने लिखे. हिन्दी फिल्म जगत में उनकी पहचान एक ऐसे लेखक के रूप में थी जो हिन्दीि और उर्दू दोनों ही भाषाओं में बेहद सरलता से गाने लिख सकता था. यूं तो नीरज ने कई सफल गाने लिखे लेकिन उन्हेंल सबसे ज्या दा पहचान 1968 में आई फिल्मद ‘कन्याेदान’ के गाने ‘लिखे जो खत तुझे…’ से मिली. इस गाने को मोहम्मद रफी ने गाया था, जो उस समय चार्टबस्टर साबित हुआ. फिर उन्होंने फिल्म ‘प्रेम पूजारी’ के लिए अपने करियर का सर्वश्रेष्ठी गाना ‘रंगीला ले…’ लिखा.
फिल्मीन गानों से मिली जबरदस्त पहचान के बावजूद नीरज खुद को बदकिस्मित मानते थे. यही वजह थी कि उन्हों ने फिल्मोंे के लिए गाने लिखना बंद कर दिया था. वह सिर्फ कविताएं और साहित्ये लिखने लगे. एक इंटरव्यू में उन्हों्ने इस बात का खुलासा करते हुए कहा था कि उन्होंदने बॉलीवुड के जिन दो-तीन मशहूर संगीतकारों के लिए फिल्मीे गाने लिखे थे उनका निधन हो गया था. उन्हों ने कहा था कि शंकर-जयकिशन जोड़ी के जयकिशन और एसडी बर्मन का निधन भी हो और उन दोनों के लिए उन्हों ने काफी मशहूर गाने लिखे थे.
