अक्सर दालचीनी का प्रयोग भोजन बनाने में एक मसाले के रूप में किया जाता है, लेकिन इसके औषधीय गुणों की वजह से इसका उपयोग आयुर्वेद की दवाईयों को बनाने में भी किया जाता हैं. दालचीनी के फायदे की बात करें तो दालचीनी की तासीर गर्म होती है, इसलिए सर्दियों में होने वाले सर्दी-जुकाम के साथ ही पेट की चर्बी, वजन घटाने और डायबिटीज जैसी गंभीर बीमारियों में इसका सेवन करना बेहद फायदेमंद रहती है. वजन कम करना हो, सेक्स पावर बढ़ानी हो या सर्दी-जुकाम से निजात पाना हो, इन सब के लिए दालचीनी का प्रयोग काफी फायदेमंद रहता है.
दालचीनी एक पेड़ की छाल होती है जिसे हम दालचीनी कहते है, दालचीनी का पेड़ कम से कम 7 से 10 मीटर ऊंचा होता है. दालचीनी मे भी दो प्रकार होते है, एक मोटी दालचीनी और एक पतली दालचीनी. मोटी दालचीनी पतली दालचीनी से अधिक तीखी होती है और इन दोनो के रंग मे भी बहुत अंतर होता है.
दालचीनी को वंडर स्पाइस भी कहते हैं. एक ओर जहां ये खाने का जायका बढ़ाने के काम आता है वहीं सेहत के लिहाज से भी इसके बहुत से फायदे हैं. सेहत और खूबसूरती दोनों ही चीजों के लिए दालचीनी का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है.
ऐसे में आपके लिए दालचीनी के फायदे के बारे में जानना बेहद जरूरी है. दालचीनी में मौजूद कंपाउंड कई औषधीय गुणों से भरपूर होते हैं। जो सेहत और खूबसूरती दोनों के लिए फायदेमंद होते हैं. यूं तो दालचीनी अपने आप में ही एक अच्छी औषधि है, लेकिन इसे दूध के साथ मिलाकर पीना और भी फायदेमंद है. दालचीनी वाला दूध कई बीमारियों में फायदेमंद है और कई बीमारियों से सुरक्षित भी रखता है. दालचीनी वाला दूध बनाना बहुत ही आसान है. एक कप दूध में एक से दो चम्मच दालचीनी पाउडर डालकर अच्छी तरह मिला लें. वैसे तो इस दूध को पीने का कोई नुकसान नहीं है, लेकिन फिर भी एकबार अपने डॉक्टर से सलाह जरूर ले लें. हड्डिुयों की मजबूती के लिए लोग सालों से दालचीनी वाले दूध का इस्तेमाल करते आ रहे हैं. विशेषज्ञों की मानें तो इस दूध के साथ दालचीनी का नियमित सेवन से गठिया की समस्या नहीं होती है.
