नई दिल्ली। राजधानी दिल्ली का एक प्रमुख दर्शनीय स्थल का नाम दिया गया है अमृत उद्यान। अब तक इसे मुगल गार्डन के नाम से जाना जाता था। केंद्र सरकार की अनुशंसा पर इसका नाम बदल दिया गया है। राष्ट्रपति भवन के प्रसिद्ध मुगल गार्डन का नाम बदलकर ‘अमृत उद्यान’ रखा गया है।
ऐसा नहीं है कि यह निर्णय अचानक लिया गया है। समय समय पर इसकी मांग होती रही है। मुग़ल गार्डन का नाम बदलने की मांग हिंदू महासभा ने की थी। 2019 में हिंदू महासभा ने मांग की थी कि मुग़ल गार्डन का नाम बदलकर राजेंद्र प्रसाद उद्यान कर दिया जाए।
शायद आपको पता हो कि रायसीना हिल्स पर 15 एकड़ में फैले मुग़ल गार्डन को बनाने की प्रेरणा, जम्मू-कश्मीर के मुग़ल गार्डन, ताजमहल के इर्द गिर्द फैले बाग़ीचे और यहां तक कि भारत और फ़ारस की पेंटिंग्स से मिली थी। आमतौर पर लोगों के बीच ये धारणा बन गई है कि राष्ट्रपति भवन में मुग़ल गार्डन बनाने का आइडिया सर एडविन लुटिएंस का था। मगर यह सच नहीं है। सच यह है कि इस गार्डन को इतना भव्य बनाने का विचार सबसे पहले तत्कालीन उद्यान विभाग के निदेशक विलियम मुस्टो का था। उस समय वो नई दिल्ली के मुख्य आर्किटेक्ट एडविन लुटिएंस की निगरानी में काम कर रहे थे।
क्रिस्टोफ़र हसी की क़िताब, ’द लाइफ ऑफ़ सर एडविन लुटिएंस’ (1950) में लुटिएंस की पत्नी एमिली बुलवर-लिटन ने मुग़ल गार्डन की खूब प्रशंसा की गई है। उन्होंने लिखा है, “फूलों को इतनी बड़ी तादाद और तरतीब में लगाया गया गया है, मानों तमाम रंगों की ख़ुशबूदार रंगोली बनाई गई हो और जब फव्वारा लगातार चलता है, तो माहौल में ज़रा भी तुर्शी नहीं मालूम होती। ये गोलाकार बाग़ीचा अपनी ख़ूबसूरती में सबको मात देता है और इसकी तारीफ़ शब्दों के दायरे में नहीं बांधी जा सकती।“
सत्तारूढ़ भाजपा की ओर से कहा गया कि राष्ट्रपति भवन में प्रतिष्ठित उद्यान का नाम बदलकर ’अमृत उद्यान’ करना उपनिवेशवाद के प्रतीकों को खत्म करना है। कई केंद्रीय मंत्रियों और भाजपा नेताओं ने ’अमृत उद्यान’ करने के लिए राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू को धन्यवाद दिया।
केंद्रीय मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान ने ट्विटर पर कहा कि यह नया नाम न केवल एक औपनिवेशिक अवशेष का एक और प्रतीक है, बल्कि अमृत काल के लिए भारत की आकांक्षाओं को भी दर्शाता है।
कानून मंत्री किरेन रिजिजू ने एक ट्वीट में कहा कि भारत की हमारी राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने राष्ट्रपति भवन में प्रतिष्ठित उद्यानों का नाम बदलकर ‘अमृत उद्यान’ करके एक मिसाल कायम की है।
इस नाम बदलने के बाद इसको लेकर राजनीति शुरू हो गई है। राजनीतिक रूप से उर्वर देश में यह होना कोई अस्वाभाविक नहीं है। बहुजन समाज पार्टी की प्रमुख मायावती ने इसको लेकर केंद्र सरकार पर निशाना साधा है। मायावती ने कहा कि कुछ मुट्ठीभर लोगों को छोड़कर देश की समस्त जनता जबरदस्त महंगाई, गरीबी व बेरोजगारी के तनावपूर्ण जीवन से त्रस्त है। उनकी समस्याओं के निदान पर ध्यान केन्द्रित करने के बजाय धर्मान्तरण, नामान्तरण, बायकाट व नफरती भाषणों के जरिए लोगों का ध्यान बांटने का प्रयास घोर अनुचित व अति-दुःखद है। उन्होंने सवाल किया कि राष्ट्रपति भवन के मशहूर मुग़ल गार्डेन का नाम बदलने से क्या देश व यहां के करोड़ों लोगों के दिन-प्रतिदिन की ज्वलन्त समस्यायें दूर हो जाएंगी ? वरना फिर आम जनता इसे भी सरकार द्वारा अपनी कमियों व विफलताओं पर पर्दा डालने का प्रयास ही मानेगी।
राज्यसभा में तृणमूल कांग्रेस के संसदीय दल के नेता डेरेक ओ’ब्रायन ने कहा कि कौन जानता है, वे अब ईडन गार्डन का नाम बदलकर इसे मोदी गार्डन कहना चाहते हैं। उन्हें नौकरियां पैदा करने, महंगाई को नियंत्रित करने और एलआईसी और एसबीआई के कीमती संसाधनों की रक्षा करने पर ध्यान देना चाहिए।
